My daughter and I had our... - My daughter and I had our own private tour with Mamma Rose. She shared her story of growing up in Roatan, what life was like for her and her family and took us on a lovely tour. The zip-line and chocolate factory were wonderful. We felt very safe and she was kind and thoughtful. I would recommend this tour especially driving with Momma Rose.

Roaton day trip adventure! - We selected this trip through Viator for our excursion instead of through our cruise line. We had an AMAZING time and had a great driver, Jessica. She drove us to the zipline area, rum factory, chocolate factory, and then to see the sloths, monkeys, and parrot’s. She was informative about the island and was so nice! We had a super time and would love to return here to visit for more than one day.

Great day in Roatan - perfect small group tour - Awesome experience. We did the whole excursion as our small group of 2. Christian was fantastic as our tour guide, wanted to know what else we would like to do or see. We lucked out beginning our zip line tour before the tour buses got there, just the 2 of us and 2 guides. I would highly recommend this tour again.

Zip lining is the best - Our driver Leon told us many things about the island, even pointed out where he and many relatives live. Zip lining was exhilarating. In one hour we did 16 sections of zip line. Felt very safe with the guides who wowed us with flips and other tricks.

Family fun in Roatán! - Ziplining was the best part! So much fun! We saw tandem (little kids with parents & my two teenage daughters) and you could do flips, backflips, hand stands, or just take it easy. Our guides were so much fun! If this was the only part of what we paid for, it would have been great. The monkeys and birds and sloths were a lot of fun. Great picture opportunities with the bird. We noticed other groups got to hold two birds but we only got to hold one. We got grouped with some people who were more vocal so they got more attention and so they got more time with the monkeys and more snacks to give the monkeys. I think that if you want to have more time with the monkeys crawling around You, make friends with the tour guides. They're just pushing people through their as quick as they can. While we could not hold the sloths, we were able to get up close to them and pet them and some good picture opportunities with them! They're so funny looking! But so cute too. We skipped the rum tasting because we don't drink, and after the chocolate "factory" which was more of a chocolate shop to sell you their chocolate, we didn't see a need to pass by the rum thing. The chocolate shop gives you a 10-second explanation of cacao beans and cocoa butter before pushing you to "step 2" where you get a teeny tiny taste of chocolate. Then they want you to go buy their chocolate. We were in and out of there and about 5 minutes. The nice thing was that we were helping a family out. Our driver was very nice and gave us some explanation and history of the island and talked about things as he drove around. I felt very safe with him driving, and we rode in a three row Kia SUV. Plenty of cold AC! That was nice after the long walked to find him. I will say, it is a little nuts trying to find the tour guide in the first place. You'll be tempted to follow the cruise line tours, which we did, and then some people will point you to the right place, and you'll pass through a million taxi vendors yelling at you and other people trying to sell you excursions. Finally, as you exit all of this, this organized chaos, you exit, and there's so much more chaos. There's about 500 people trying to find or sell tours. They're sticking signs through fences and trying to call out your name and just be ready for the barrage of people. Ask around, and I'll point you to the right person. Don't forget the name of Roatan breakaway tours. That was our saving grace. Absolutely worth the cost. Bring some extra twenties for some tips. We also found some cute little girls selling bags at $20 that were sold for $35 at the Port. So hold off on buying stuff at the Port. You'll have to pass there again on your way back.
