Sapa Market - After meeting the tour guide (Mama Chao or her husband) and enjoying breakfast together, the trek to the village begins. Various routes are available based on fitness levels, so it’s important to inform the guide of preferences and ensure sufficient water is on hand for the day.

Trek through the mountains, fields, and alongside streams, encountering many locals along the journey. Feel free to pause as needed, with lunch provided at a local restaurant, covering a total of 10-12km of trekking on the first day.

Upon reaching Hau Thao village, meet a local family and settle into their home. Assist Mama Chao in preparing dinner and learn about local cooking methods, including catching and preparing a chicken if desired!

Enjoy dinner with the group, savoring some ‘happy water’, rice wine, while listening to stories of life in the valley and sharing your own experiences.

Hau Thao- Giang Ta Chai - Sapa Town

Giang Ta Chai Village - Following breakfast, the guide will lead another day of trekking, exploring the stunning scenery of Sapa off the beaten path. There will be opportunities to see a waterfall and learn about rice production, the area’s primary industry.

Pause for lunch and arrive in Sapa by 3:30 pm, returning to Hanoi that evening.

Sapa town is charming in its own right, with its quaint little streets, coffee shops and bustling markets, however, in our humble opinion, Sapa is best used as the starting point for adventures into the surrounding hills and valleys, attracted by the highland tribes, iconic rice paddies and forest treks. The whole area is blessed with awe-inspiring natural beauty.
