Setting Sail into Serenity

The moment I stepped onto the Angela Cruise, I felt a wave of tranquility wash over me. The gentle lapping of the water against the hull, the soft breeze carrying the scent of the sea, and the promise of adventure ahead set the perfect tone for the journey. As a marine biologist, I have always been drawn to the ocean, and this cruise through Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay was a dream come true.

Our journey began with a warm welcome and a refreshing drink as we set sail from Tuan Chau Harbor. The cruise manager’s briefing was both informative and reassuring, setting the stage for the days to come. As we glided past the iconic Finger Islet and Candle Islet, the limestone towers rose majestically from the emerald waters, each uniquely shaped by nature’s hand. It was a sight that left me in awe, and I couldn’t resist capturing the moment with my camera.

Adventures in Lan Ha Bay

The second day was filled with exhilarating activities that brought us closer to the natural beauty of Lan Ha Bay. We started with a peaceful Tai Chi session on the sundeck, watching the sunrise paint the sky in hues of pink and orange. The calmness of the morning was the perfect prelude to the day’s adventures.

Exploring Viet Hai Village by bike was a highlight. The ride through vast rice fields and the visit to an old house made from straw and bamboo offered a glimpse into the lives of the local people. It was a humbling experience, reminding me of the simplicity and beauty of life away from the hustle and bustle.

Later, we kayaked through the serene waters of Ba Trai Dao beach, surrounded by the pristine white sands and the quietude of nature. The thrill of paddling through the tranquil waters, with the limestone cliffs towering above, was an experience I will cherish forever.

Sunset Magic and Nighttime Wonders

As the sun began to set, we returned to the cruise for a cooking class, where we learned to make traditional Vietnamese dishes. The aroma of fresh ingredients and the joy of creating something new was a delightful experience. The sunset over Lan Ha Bay was nothing short of magical, casting a golden glow over the water and creating a serene atmosphere.

The night was filled with laughter and camaraderie as we enjoyed a delicious dinner, followed by squid fishing under the starlit sky. The gentle rocking of the boat and the sound of the waves created a soothing backdrop as we shared stories and made new friends.

As I lay in my cabin that night, listening to the gentle hum of the ocean, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the experiences and memories created on this exceptional journey. The Angela Cruise was not just a trip; it was a celebration of nature, culture, and the simple joys of life on the water.
