Great family activity in Hanoi - This was fantastic. John the tour guide was very friendly and informative. As were all the drivers. Our three boys (14, 12, 11 yrs) loved it. We felt completely safe at all times on the back of the vespas and the side cars. The farm tour was interesting and we learnt about agriculture in Vietnam. The king temple and coconut drink was a new treat. Lunch was great too in a local home. Highly recommend John and Hanoi Backstreet Tours.

Highly recommend the tour - It was an excellent tour with our guide Duc . They drove us through the outskirts of Hanoi through the fruit and vegetable farms giving a lot of information about Vietnamese life. In Bat trang village he took us to a Ceramic factory where they showed us a detailed process of ceramic making. He took through narrow allies to the oldest home in Bat Trang. Later we had an hands on experience of making pottery. Half day well spent.

BEST FAVE “TOUR” TRIP - Didn’t feel like it was a tour. Felt like I went out of trip with my friend, chanced to see a grandpa that’s an art collector and Hanged out with him. Out of my 5 days in Hanoi, this is my fave tour and day I did so far which I just booked last minute last night. I’m glad I did. It was nice getting out of the city, where I think I was the only “tourist” when we were riding out. Went to farm a bit of walk to appreciate the “farm” then went to the ceramics, and even chilled out like a local and went to get my hands “dirty”. Saw some kids in a fieldtrip then went to this grandpa’s house to hang out and chat with him. He’s retired so I guess the oldies love it when other people visit them. 💯 recommend. His stories and Duc (my “tourguide”/friend) touched my heart. Grandpa made me try his homemade wines. My fave was the rice wine. All in all didnt feel like a tour. We were chilling and it was like day was slowmo yet fast as well. Get out of the touristy stuff! THIS IS 10000000000 worth anything! THANKS DUC! PS. LOVELY FOOD 💯 on point with lunch and drinks. Except the egg coffee lol my personal choice too strong for me. ZEE BESTT PPS Grandpas teas and painting 😍😍

A great way to see parts of the countryside from Hanoi, and to learn about life here. - This is a great way to gain a perspective on village life outside Hanoi in the Red River delta. Huy was very articulate and well informed about the history and life in this part of Vietnam, and made the whole experience very interesting. We were conducted through the city and into some tiny country roads in a comfortable, but exciting way on the back of a couple of motorcycles, which provided not only a great view, but also a way to see parts of the countryside which would be inaccessible by car. We were treated to a delicious traditional lunch in a private home, we visited a couple of village centers, drove through the paddy fields, saw a lotus farm, and finally braved the Hanoi traffic to be dropped back at our hotel. The bikes felt safe, the drivers were careful, so we could focus on the experience. A big part of the tour was the conversation with Huy, who not only shared information about the places we visited, but also shared something of his own life. His openness made this a unique and valuable experience.

Great time on the motorbikes to ceramic village - Had a great time going to the Ban Cha ceramic village with Duc and team. My 13year old son thoroughly enjoyed the bike ride, while my 5year old daughter relished the pottery making experience. I love going off the beaten track and every aspect was a great experience including the meal at the quintessential Hidden Gem cafe. 👌🏻❤️☺️

Perfect few hours outside Hanoi - The weather was not great, so after checking with us, our guide and driver Q & Q picked us up with a jeep instead. It was an amazing way to get out of Hanoi just for a few kilometers and see the rice fields, the ancient citadel city and a cemetery. Guide Q was very knowledgeable and witty. He spoke English really well, and told us a lot about history, architecture and customs. He would try and answer our every question and was in for a joke as well. Driver Q was also great, steering us through the traffic with ease. The lunch was lovely and the lotus tea break was a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended!
