Thung Khe Pass - Make a stop at Thung Khe Pass, renowned for its breathtaking views at every turn. This impressive mountain pass in Mai Chau features small restaurants and shops with thatched roofs near the summit. These establishments, known as Thung Khe market, offer hot tea and local goods. Buses from Hanoi often pause here for refreshments and to admire the scenery. Occasionally, clouds may obscure the view, but the market offers local food and products. The Thung Khe Pass flagpole, also known as the Mai Chau Flagpole or viewpoint, is a highlight, offering stunning views of the Mai Chau valley, often seen in photos of the area.
Lac Village - Arrive at Lac Village in Mai Chau by 12:00. After a brief rest, the tour guide will lead a short walk to visit the ethnic Thai community. Lunch is scheduled at the village at 12:30. Afterward, the group will proceed to Puluong.
Don Village - At 14:00, continue driving approximately 20 km to Puluong Nature Reserve. Begin a 2 to 3-hour walk through scenic hillside villages, magnificent rice paddies, and handcrafted bamboo water wheels. The walk highlights the beauty of Pu Luong Nature Reserve and the daily life and culture of the White Thai people. Guests will be welcomed as honored visitors at a traditional Thai stilt house in Hang Village, where a traditional dinner and overnight stay are arranged.
Pu Luong Nature Reserve - Kho Muong Village - Homestay
Pu Luong Nature Reserve - Guests are encouraged to rise early to observe or participate in morning activities, as daily life begins early here. Take a stroll around Hang Village before enjoying breakfast served by the Thai people.
At 8:00 am, embark on a trek lasting approximately 5 to 6 hours. The initial hike is challenging with steep climbs and stream crossings, followed by a rewarding journey with stunning views of valleys, rice terraces, lush rainforests, and streams.
Kho Muong - Enjoy a picnic lunch en route at Eo Ken Village, arriving in Kho Muong, which is considered one of the most beautiful settings in Vietnam. Visitors are encouraged to explore the village, engage with locals, or relax in one of the homestays established by FFI (Flora and Fauna International) in collaboration with local communities.
Please treat the environment with care and respect, as the natural beauty here is truly remarkable. Arrive in Kho Muong Village in the afternoon, where the second night will be spent in a traditional Thai eco-stilt house.
Puluong - Mai Chau - Hanoi
Mai Chau - A vehicle will pick up guests at Pho Doan and transfer them to Mai Chau Valley. Take time to explore the vibrant local market in Mai Chau, followed by lunch in a local home. After a short break, the group will join a local guide for a biking tour in Mai Chau. The cycling tour offers a chance to see farmers at work, locals weaving scarves, and visit the surrounding peaceful villages, which serve as a living museum.
Old Quarter - At 14:30, bid farewell to the homestay hosts and return to Hanoi, arriving around 18:00. This marks the end of the trip.
