- Hoa Lo Prison - Known as the “Hanoi Hilton,” this prison housed Vietnamese political prisoners, as well as French and American prisoners of war, providing a captivating and sobering insight into prison life. Most of the original structure was demolished in 1996 to make room for the Hanoi Towers (now Somerset Grand Hanoi) serviced apartment and office complex, but the southernmost corner has been preserved and reopened to the public as a tribute to the revolutionaries who perished here under dire conditions. Visitors can see the original cells, complete with leg-irons, along with a variety of bilingual (Vietnamese and English) exhibits depicting the grim realities of life in the prison during the French colonial era.
-
French Quarter - In the French Quarter (available on Mon and Fri), the tour includes visits to the Monument of Sacrifice and Hoan Kiem Lake.
The tour concludes around 12:00 PM (for the morning tour) or 5:00 PM (for the afternoon tour).

A must-do Hanoi experience - Hands down, this was the best decision ever! I highly recommend this booking a tour with Bop early in your trip. He takes you to the best local spots, all of which are his personal favorites, and trust me, they do not disappoint! From the refreshing beef salad to the unique grilled pork spring rolls, cheesy pork skewers, and delicious coconut sticky rice dessert, every bite was amazing.

A wonderful tour of Hanoi - This was our first time having a guide show us around a city, and we were thrilled with our experience in Hanoi. It was no easy task, but she handled it perfectly. She shared fascinating insights about the city, its people, and the rich history of Vietnam. Thank you again for such a memorable time - I'll be sure to recommend some great food spots to my friends.

Great experience in Hanoi - Our guide was very punctual and arrived at the hotel. We explored various places around Hanoi, including the famous train street, where she quickly booked us a table. She also gave us interesting information about the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum. To top it all off, we enjoyed an excellent meal in a local restaurant, thanks to its excellent culinary recommendations.

Great tour in Hanoi - Our guide was Thomas, a Vietnamese student who could make time for us after an exam. Really helpful since we talked by whatsapp and the tour that we could choose (although it was fast because we had no much time) it was amazing. We did the Hoa Lo Prision tour and Joseph Cathedral and all the information provided was super interesting but also other different topics as vietnamese history, food or fun facts… His actitud and passion make me recommend to everyone going to Hanoi making a tour with him.

Authentic Hanoi food experience - Our food tour guide, to take me to places where the locals eat, steering clear of the usual tourist spots – and he truly delivered! He took me to a fantastic barbecue buffet, and the food was absolutely delicious. The whole experience felt so personal and meaningful. It’s an experience you won't regret!

Prison is the only War part of the tour - The prison was very interesting and it was great having Camille along as she could give depth to the information with the exhibits.
That was the only war part of the trip as I got a message the night before to say the museum was 12km away so not possible. Offered other options but I didn’t pick your to go to women’s museum or literature museum so bailed after the prison tour. Really need to change the description as war sites tour is not what is offered.
Camille provided some very helpful guidance on visiting some other sites.
