Martha was very knowledgeable, had fun stories to tell, and was able to answer all of our questions, adapting the tour to fit our interests. And after a full afternoon, the lemonade in a cool courtyard was a lovely finishing touch!
Martha was very animated and informative. She made us feel welcome and i could tell she enjoyed sharing her knowledge of her hometown with us. Well worth the time and money.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the tour was very well paced. I was under the impression that one of the sisters would be the guide. That was not the case. That fact leads me to the rating.
Great tour! So much information! Would definitely recommend!
Martha was very knowledgeable in the history of Charleston. She had the academic qualification to back it up as well. Excellent tour, very much recommended.
Our guide Maggie was very thorough and enthusiastic about sharing the history of Charleston.
Had a delightful tour of historic Charleston with Anne on a beautiful day. She personalized the tour a few family stories - as her family has lived in the city for hundreds of years. (She is a direct descendent of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.) we got an overview of the city’s history relating to wars, religion, people and architecture. And ended with a glass of lemonade in her lovely garden. She was very warm and welcoming. Overall a great experience. I highly recommend the tour!
Our tour guide Brad, was personable and knowledgeable, keep characteristics for a guide. The tour gave us a good overview of Charleston's natural and political history. Would highly recommend this tour.
Martha was an excellent tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable and enjoyable to listen to.
Martha's enthusiasm for her subject, and passion to relay it were intoxicating. After spending many hours roaming the streets and alleys of Charleston, we thought that we had seen it all, but she showed us so much more. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. We very much enjoyed the tour and history of the city.
Martha clearly knows her history! The fact that she is a local makes it even more unique and she gave great perspective on the tour that only a local can provide. She was friendly and enthusiastic. It was a great tour and I learned a lot about Charleston!
Highly Recommend! Would book a private tour too if more time allotted! Great History and perspective of Charleston! Would recommend to all.
Our tour was excellent. Martha spoke so well and passionately about her native Charleston. Our group learned so much and the walk was so informational and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour.
Very informative and enjoyable tour. Martha was fantastic.
Charming and knowledgeable guide.
Martha was very knowledgeable about the history, architecture & geography of Charleston. I highly recommend the tour.
Second visit with Anne and she was wonderful and informative as expected. This is a great tour.
Our guide Anne was great! It was an informative and entertaining tour. I learned a lot.
Very knowledgeable guide (a native) paced the group at our pace, not hers. I'm pretty sure this made for some minor adjustments in the itinerary but it all worked beautifully. Lemonade at the end was a nice touch
Charming insiders history and perfect introduction to Charleston. Warm, humorous and very informative. Personal anecdotes mixed with historical info made for a fun couple hours walking and gawking.
We loved the tour! We learned so much about Charleston and had a great experience! Thank you for sharing your passion for Charleston with us!
Very much appreciated this walking tour and the excitement Anne brings to her work and her story telling. Would do it again next time I visit Charleston to learn even more.
Martha was super knowledgeable about all things Charleston - history - centuries old to recent, architecture, social issues, and gave fun tourist advice. Plus she covers a lot of ground in 2 hours - wear your walking shoes!! We enjoyed this with our 2 teens. Highly recommend.
The tour was very fun and full of fun and interesting facts!
Very interesting and informative tour. Anne was very knowledgeable in all things Charleston - the history (from the 1700's until today), the people, the events that have shaped the town and its inhabitants! Would definitely recommend.
Very informative, varied itinerary
Our guide was very knowledgeable! Because of her family's rich history in Charleston she was able to provide a personal element to what she was telling us. I would highly recommend this tour!
The tour was very informative. Ann was very knowledgeable regarding the history of Charleston. It was a tour off the beaten path so I learned things about the old walled city I never knew. Ann also recommended other activities to visit to enhance the historical perspective even further; the Slave Market Museum, Sweet grass basket women, St Philips church cemetery. It was a a fun and fact-filled 2 hours. I would highly recommend the tour to others.
Excellent and informative tour! Ann took us places we would never have found on our own. Her unique perspective as a many-generation Charleston native was very interesting. Highly recommend.
Very friendly, very professional, small group
The tour was fantastic! I highly recommend it to anyone interesting in learning about the history of Charleston while you stroll around one of the most beautiful cities in America.
Anne was extremely knowledgeable as well as entertaining. She took us to areas only a lifetime resident would understand the value of learning about.
Wasn't perfect but it accomplished the task of teaching us more about Charleston in less than 2.5 hours. The mix of personal stories with the city's history was very well done. My recommended improvement would be to not spend 35 minutes at the beginning talking. I wondered if we were ever going to get going and learn about the history because most of the time was spent talking about his radical daughter's hair color or soccer team, etc. maybe just start a bit early with the actual walking.
Tour guide was very personable & informative
So much history in just a few blocks. Tons of knowledge and great information on the history of Charleston, its people and its architecture. Beats any carriage ride!
Matha was a great guide and knew of history well and made it entertaining. She was gracious enough to entertain all of the questions from the group. The tour covers a lot of information of the Charleston's history and helps to understand what you see as you walk around it.
