We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It is a fascinating place. Matt did a super job in telling us the history of the store and its importance in the life of Harriet Tubman. Would highly recommend.

While I was not with the group, the group leader told me that someone not only opened up but talked and really got the group interested and engaged. Going to the Bucktown General Store really makes the story of Harriet Tubman come alive. Thanks.

If you're doing Dorcester County and Harriet Tubman research and tourism. This store is a must-see! Helpful people and very educational. Set in perfect mid-1800 period.

I like the way Matt told the story of Harriet in the store for my granddaughters to understand. They were very interested in every thing in the store and Matt answered their many questions patiently and thoroughly. When they went home to their parents, they eagerly told them about their experience. My husband and I also enjoyed what we saw and heard and conversing with Matt. We lived on Hoopers Island for several years and we and Matt know some of the same people. Thank you for saving and preserving such an important piece of history.

We have visited twice and were enthralled both times! It is remarkable to be in the store that Harriet Tubman was injured in. We learned so much and both tour guides were outstanding. The family that owns it is so knowledgeable and great at sharing info. We could walk all around the store and touch the antiques and artifacts. We highly recommend visiting the store to everyone! It is a true treasure of American history and evidence of the gut wrenching reality of our past.

I choose this rating because my experience at the Bucktown General Store was awesome. The store owner Susan was very passionate in her story telling of Harriet Tubman’s life and the unfortunate event that happened in the Bucktown store and I greatly enjoyed that. Thanks again Susan
