Overall it was fine. The tour guide seemed to 'drift' from the topics and go off on some tangents, unrelated to Savannah Historic Tour. He was quote knowledgeable, but we would have like a little more Detail given our time with him.
A little too much time to get started. The rest of the tour was very informative, interesting and colorfully presented by Chuck
We appreciated Chucks history lessons on Savannah.
Great detail and stories provided a very entertaining stroll through the Savannah historical area.
Was informative, but, a little too hokey.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, interesting and funny. We would definitely recommend this tour!
The young woman who was our tour guide was EXCELLENT!!! She was so knowledgeable and pleasant. I would definitely recommend Free Savannah Walking Tours.
Madeline is very knowledgeable and very personable.
Chuck was knowledgeable and entertaining, while offering me and my husband a good foundational education of the city. Would highly recommend.
The guide was fantastic, although it was his last tour he is doing. Very interesting history to the town and it was told well with great humour.
Excellent tour of the squares of Savannah. Chris made history come alive with his stories about the settling of Savannah and of Savannah during the revolutionary war. Despite leading a very large crowd of people of different ages and knowledge of history, Chris managed to be heard by everyone and to keep everyone’s interest. He explained who was honored in each of the squares we walked through and talked about the beautiful homes that surrounded the squares. He also told us about the people who made Savannah what it is today. He explained how Savannah had deteriorated over the years but how the efforts of the preservationists brought it back to all its beauty. He also talked about Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, as well as Forest Gump, and how the book and film have led many tourists to come to this beautiful city. Everyone in our group really enjoyed Chris’ stories and jokes and were very happy to have taken his tour.
Please email me about the new tour guides and what their strengths are. we want to take another tour soon but wanted a concentration on history, Civil War and Revolutionary War. Hope Daniel and Chris left their scripts with you so you can give us the same information as well as what you love to share!! Looking forward to seeing you soon!! Please send your response to firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you!!
This tour was o.k. It was a bit cold (Christmas day in the high 40's or low 50's) so the weather may have been a bit of a factor. Between the cold and the day, it seemed the guide was in a bit of a hurry to finish the tour. On the way to join the tour at Johnson Square, we had time to read the plaques in the parks and other than information on 2 movies which were filmed here, there wasn't that much additional information that you couldn't read on your own if you just read the posted information. I expected a bit more.
Informative,answered our questions, punctual
Couldn't hear the guide all of the time. Was very fast paced
The guide was very informative and friendly and even though there was an intermittent light rain he took his time to do the tour right and didn't try to cut our time short.
Sometimes a little overwhelmed with information and spoke quickly but that just shows enthusiasm; overall good effort and amicable
Expected to do more walking and guide was pretty long winded in his talk
Chris gave an outstanding tour!
A little too much history, more present day would have been good e.g. Who lives in the houses now etc
I was charged a dollar per person for a city tour tax. I was then charged an extra six cents per dollar as a tax on this tax, which is ridiculous, especially since the sales tax rate is 7% in Savannah.
I absolutely loved the tour. Lot of history and nice-to-know facts. The tour guide was very friendly and his english was very easy to understand also for a foreigner like me.
Daniel has great enthusiasm ! His love and knowledge of his hometown city is not only blatantly obvious but infectious !
We really enjoyed the tour!! It was very informative and our guide was amazing!! Thank you so much!!
Chris was enthusiastic and very informative. Job well done!
Fast speaking and sometimes confusing, but nice and funny guy with interesting stories.
