In the estuary, we also find manatees on occasion, loggerhead sea turtles, and even mink or otters, as well as many species of shorebirds feeding in the salt marsh on crabs and shrimp. Bottlenose dolphins are the main attraction as they live here year-round, and the vast majority of tours will see them. While paddling through the calm estuary, you will see some of the million-dollar mansions, and if you’d like, learn about the history of the island and the locals’ favorite beaches and restaurants while enjoying the surroundings of the salt marsh.
