Setting Sail to Rottnest Island

As an advocate for sustainable tourism, I am always on the lookout for eco-friendly travel experiences that allow us to enjoy nature without leaving a heavy footprint. I brought my own snorkeling gear, but for those who prefer to travel light, equipment is available for hire on the island. The Basin, a popular snorkeling spot, was a favorite of mine, with its tranquil waters and colorful fish.

As I cycled around the island, I made sure to visit the old church and museum, as well as the salt lakes and lookout past the old cemetery. Each stop offered a glimpse into the island’s rich history and natural beauty. I was particularly impressed by the efforts to preserve the island’s unique ecosystem, and I felt a sense of responsibility to do my part in protecting it.
