• Clava Cairns - A brief journey into the valley behind Culloden Battlefield leads to the 4,000-year-old chambered burial site of Clava Cairns, also known as Balnuaran. Cath will share intriguing folklore and legends about the site, which inspired the Craigh Na Dun stones in Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series.

• Cawdor Castle - Visit Cawdor Castle, a Highland castle with beautiful gardens. Enter through its gate, moat, and drawbridge. Known for its turrets, turnpike stairs, and a vaulted 16th-century kitchen, the medieval tower was built for the 3rd Thane of Cawdor. The castle has been home to 23 generations of the Cawdor family.

• The Singleton Distillery - Located on the Black Isle, the Singleton distillery is renowned for its single malt aged 12, 15, and 18 years. The area has a long history of barley cultivation for malting.

Visit the newly refurbished distillery visitor center to purchase whisky, enjoy a drink at the bar, or have coffee and a snack. The gift shop offers Singleton merchandise, and you can even bottle your own whisky.

Afterward, return to Inverness via the Black Isle. Crossing the Kessock Bridge, you might spot dolphins in the Moray Firth.
