Kampai! A fantastic introduction to the joys of sake - What a fascinating and enjoyable tour! I admit to knowing nothing about sake before going and now I know a little more! An easy half hour train journey from Hiroshima to Saijo, which is dominated by red brick chimneys. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. My only criticism is that it was rushed and an extra half an hour would have allowed for more appreciation of the sake and town. Kampai!

Gained better understanding of sake in English - It was a good experience with Yuko-san explaining the different breweries and highlighting some interesting facts along the way. While you can visit the breweries on your own too, I feel this is better because the guide will explain in English and be your 'liaison' with the breweries staff. I was lucky to be the only one who signed up for the 2-hour tour on that day so it was like having a personal guide. I will recommend this tour if you do not really speak Japanese and like to have a sake-tasting tour. You get to take the small ceramic cup home as a souvenir too.

Great tour - Great tour. The guide was lovely and she really taught us a lot. Good to try many different types of sake and appreciated the ceramic cup instead of disposable plastic one.

Fantastic tour hosted by a passionate guide - The tour guide was great! Very knowledgeable and passionate! The tour is a bit rush though. It would be better to start a bit earlier e.g. 12pm and extend to 2.5 hours. This will allow more time to re-visit the Breweries after the tour, as most of them close at 4pm on weekdays.
