An eco-friendly tour - Our experience at the Tra Que Water Wheel was really relaxing and allowed us to get in touch with the real Vietnamese life of local farmers surrounded by an uncontaminated environment.
A special thank you goes to our tour guide, Ruby, for all the information she gave us and for her explanations about how to make rice paper and prepare delicious Spring rolls during the cooking class.
We started the tour with a ride on a basket boat in the middle of a coconut forest and then we cycled in the countryside where you can spot water buffalos ( you can even ride one, if you like) while exploring the rice fields around you.
Finally we had a farm -to- table lunch we ourselves cooked during the cooking class with the addition of other traditional Vietnamese dishes prepared by a local chef with the fresh ingredients grown on the farm.
Why not conclude the day with a bike ride up to the white An Bang Beach and lie on a beach bed while sipping a refreshing drink or waiting for the breathtaking scenery at sunset? It's great fun!
We highly recommend this experience to tourists visiting Hoi An.

Fun farming experience. - We had the most amazing time at the eco village. Everyone we had dealings with were so kind and friendly. The kids loved the coconut basket and buffalo ride and we all really enjoyed learning how to cook local food. We never felt rushed and it was a very calming atmosphere.
I would recommend doing this to anyone.

Beautiful memories made - What a wonderful half day!! Highlight for our 4 year old was riding the water buffalo and highlight for our 6 year old was all the coconut leaf “jewellery” made on the basket boat! Basket boat ride itself was a very peaceful experience and my husband and I loved the cooking class and delicious food and drinks! Personal highlight was making rice paper. As someone who has eaten a lot of rice paper products before (I grew up in south east Asia) I was amazed I’d never really thought about/knew how it was made! Fascinating! Our guide, Xuan, was absolutely super - hospitable, energetic, patient, considerate, and great with our kids. Our kids being quite fussy only really wanted to eat plain rice which they provided. Thank you SO much for such a memorable and warm-spirited trip! We also ate some milk apple which was a first for us!

Most fun Vietnamese outing yet! - Ruby was an amazing host. We got a custom experience where we got to try out a basket boat, ride the water buffalo, participate in traditional farming techniques on their organic farm and best of all get to make rice paper and cook multiple authentic Vietnam dishes. Our kids who are normally just kind of adventurous eaters loved every moment of it. Highly recommend this tour - you get traditional Vietnamese hats because the sun is very very strong. Dress accordingly!

Best ever Hoi A side trip! - Definitely one of our best days! First meeting Trang with her great energy and playful humor. Next our bike ride out of crazy busy HoiAn and into farm land, stops to learn about rice, along the way tidbits of her life growing up there and her family. Thinking the round boats was going to be a goofy touristy thing, I was instead delighted by the 2 low key paddlers who guided these saucer boats through a water way, learning how and why this unusual craft came to be, easygoing lessons on making rings from grasses growing there. Once at the herb farm and restaurant, we visited with a woman farmer, cooked the local crispy pancakes, then sat down to a fabulous and generous multi-course meal - so good! Biked home thankful for the heavy clouds which cooled our ride home. Lovely day. Thank you Trang and all!

Amazing experience! - We had the most amazing afternoon at Water Wheel! Our amazing teacher Spring taught us how to make three dishes and made it super simple but fun. The food was amazing too! Then we loved the coconuts after. All in all a fabulous experience and we would highly recommend!

Wonderful Guide! Rich Cultural Experience! - I was only looking to take a Vietnamese cooking class, but what I got was a real trip highlight! I was greeted at my hotel by Ruby who was a delightful guide. I was solo, and she took me by the arm and guided me through the local markets, collecting food for our class and showing me all the local fare. This was really neat! I asked a lot of questions and Ruby’s English was great. Later we went to the farm and Ruby showed us all the plants in the garden and what they were and how they’re used in local dishes. Then, there was the coconut boats, the water buffalo ride, planting, and WoW, the food we cooked was Amazing! So flavorful! I learned so much. I Highly recommend this one!
