Coconut basket boat rides have become increasingly popular among tourists. Traditionally, local fishermen in Hoi An have utilized Vietnamese basket boats, which are handcrafted from bamboo and coated with resin for waterproofing, to fish along the Thu Bon River, supporting maritime trade and local livelihoods. This tour offers the opportunity to experience riding one of these boats along the historic Thu Bon River. The tour begins leisurely along the Thu Bon River, the main waterway flowing through Hoi An, which was once a significant trade route. The 35-50 minute tour is quite relaxing, as the Vietnamese rower guides you through a dense coconut grove. Eventually, you will emerge from the forest, and the atmosphere becomes more lively and exciting, with spinning wheels, screams, and loud music! A highlight of the experience is witnessing or participating in the vibrant basket boat dances performed by the locals.
