The islands are approachable from Cua Dai beach. The islands are also recognized as Vietnam’s national scenic site.

The islands grouped under the Cham Islands are: the Hòn Lao (Pearl), Hòn Dài (long), Hòn Mồ (tomb), Hòn Khô mẹ, Hòn Khô con (dry), Hòn Lá (leaf), Hòn Tai (ear) and Hòn Ông (east wind). The Cham Islands are under the administration of Tân Hiệp Commune of Hội An city in Quảng Nam Province.

The occupation of the people of the islands is mainly fishing.

Cu Lao Cham Islands’ ancient landscape offers many sand beaches, forested hills and the sea. Facilities for camping, swimming and scuba diving are available. The corals and marine life are an attraction in these island waters

I'll be coming back to fmdo this again with friends and family!! - What a great day!! Snorkelling was fun, I had my waterproof action camera and got super clear images of the colourful coral. (It wasn't quite as clear for me as I couldn't wear my glasses with the snorkelling goggles) so when I was able to replay the footage from the camera I was over the moon!! The lunch was delicious and then we saw the cutest group of little monkeys come out to play. Our guide "Miss Banana" was very funny and had us laughing all day but also taught us about the local conservation efforts on Cham Islands.

Lots of time wasted - Boat trip over and back is very efficient. But as soon as you get there , you are dropped at a boring village for 1 hour which turned into an hour and fifteen. We turned right at the dock and followed this road through the village and up a huge hill. This gave a spectacular view over the islands. We then walked about 200m down the slope and found a signed beach with not a soul on it. We had a fantastic time there for about 40 mins. If we had of stayed at the village with everyone else we’d have been very bored. Then a twenty minute stop at a beach to allow people to change into togs. Again we took advantage of the location and had a swim or it would have been more waiting around. Then to our snorkelling spot. Snorkels are not sanitised. The masks were not good quality. The lens fell out of the first one I was given. I did not see a head count being done. Coral was pretty. We saw some clownfish, parrotfish, angel fish etc. Snorkelling was about 45 mins. Then back to same beach for another 20-30 mins for people to be get changed. Then onto lunch. The boat left two passengers accidentally behind here and didn’t realise til half way through lunch!!! No head counts. Heaps of food but way too long sitting on this island - we were there for almost 2 hours for no apparent reason. 45 mins would have been long enough for lunch and get us back to explore Hoi An with more time. Guide had limited English

What an experience! - Great speed boat ride to and from Cham Island. However, care should be taken when snorkelling due to boats manoeuvring without much care for those in the water. An accident waiting to happen. It looks the reef is being damaged, and there are signs of bleaching, and not a lot of sea life around. The beach and the lunch were a great way to complete the day's activities, before the ip back to the island.

Don’t do it - Ordinary day today spent 8 hrs away for 30 minutes of mediocre snorkelling. Boat was jam packed with 20+ people (there were people standing the walkway) Our guide spoke minimal to no English and left the group whilst we were snorkeling, lunch was ordinary and the bus driver was incredibly rude towards “westerners” and unorganised.. Would not recommend to anyone..
