Recommended! - Fantastic experience with a super guide (unfortunately I don't remember the name)...prepared and nice! He told us the story of the glacier, explained the differences and involved with activities!

Book it! & appreciate it. - What a great trip! We had the pleasure of going on a tour with Ingo (nick name I believe) and it was a great time. With all honesty, the ice caves are very dependent on the weather, global warming, time of year, and other factors. Going in winter, the weather is colder and some caves will form in this but warmer days may result in smaller caves, due to melting and safety. Glaciers are melting at an alarming rate, these caves and tunnels are changing every day. It is still an amazing experience to see these glacier, walk on them, learn about them and see these huge walls and tunnels that are around. For them to be blue, the weather must be cold so please understand your expectations and also realistically what is possible during your trip. It is a fantastic tour and don’t think that just because it’s not Instagram perfect, it is not something to appreciate and witness.

Make sure you get there... - Make sure you get there early. It can be confusing to find your guide as all the operators are in one place. Our guide Mary was absolutely amazing.

Incredible experience - This is an incredible experience! The jeep ride is 30 minutes long and it’s rocky so if you’ve not driven F Roads in Iceland this will be a shock to you. They provide crampons & helmets for your safety but you’ll need to wrap up warm because it gets very cold - especially in your fingers and toes. The wind is brutal and ash will blow into your eyes so I’d advise some sunglasses as well.
Our tour guide Lisa was so nice & had a great sense of humour, she taught us about the glaciers & ice caves and recommended the Diamond Beach (which we were planning to go to anyway). She also answered all of our questions. The sad news is, there’s not many of the ice caves left so if you can I highly recommend this before they all vanish forever! There’s lots of opportunities for cool pictures and we crawled through the ice tunnels.
When we got back to the jeep it had lost power, Lisa made sure we all got inside to keep warm and she contacted her team. They were there within minutes and we were back up and running in less than 10 minutes.
Once in a lifetime opportunity - you don’t want to miss out!

Such a great time! So... - Such a great time! So amazing to see 8000year old ice with ash in it! The views surrounding were spectacular, too! Highly recommended for adults and kids!

Don’t think about it, just book it! - Pick up was seamless, our driver/guide was very knowledgeable and showed great hospitality. He was very warm and had a great sense of humor. We had a medium sized group of different nationalities in a good sized Ford super van. They give you the appropriate equipment to be able to walk on the ice with no issues. We had a great time going to the cave and took lots of wonderful photos. This was certainly one of our big adventures as a couple and had a great experience. We even got a sneak chance to walk on the mossy ground as a quick photo opportunity while our tires were inflating. Overall would highly recommend this experience to anyone. The caves and the landscape change every single day and season and you will never get the same experience twice.

Cold Cold day - We had a weather issue the day before that cause to ask company to reschedule tour to caves. They first said they had to wait till 9 am day of tour to consider any refund even though they new roads were closed. I ask maybe the consider us coming in for afternoon tour, they acepted that . But the were very apprehensive to work with us at all at beginning. End of day we did tour but did like the approach company had upon weather with road closures!

January Glacier Walk - Very neat, cold experience. Wear something over your face and hand warmers really help. Very nice guide but a little crowded

Hidden costs - beware - Terrible experience: the morning tour was, first, moved to afternoon one and eventually cancelled due to weather conditions. Lost many hours of my life - travelling and then waiting for decisions. And I wouldn't mind - weather in Iceland can be tricky. But troll.is charges me 3% anyways - even if they cancel the trip. We've had a group of 7 + the trip is rather expensive. This makes a significant cost which I find clearly unfair and poorly justified.
