South of Loggia is the Basilica of St. Mark, once the Cathedral of Crete, now home to the Municipal Art Gallery of Heraklion.

Best segway tour in Crete Heraklion7 - The segway tour in heraklion was more thsn perfect! Yanis the guide was absolutly wonderful. Charming tour with a wide sightseeing. You can definatly see Yanis does it with love! Highly recommended

Major schedule change disruption - We were looking forward to exploring the Heraklion area with our group of 5 on 10/14/23 for the advertised small group Heraklion Segway tour but were notified the day before that the company changed the tour and meeting point to a location an hour and 15 minutes away for a very large group. We had already been touring various cities in mainland Greece that included long travel times and were unwilling to make another hour plus drive to tour an area of Crete away from Heraklion, as we already had tours scheduled for those other areas of Crete we wanted to explore. We canceled and did get our refund but feel the location change for a very large group over an hour away from our reserved and pre-scheduled location was negative experience. Due to the short notice, our group was unable to explore the Heraklion area to the extent we had anticipated via the Segway tour.
