The journey begins along the left bank of the Kamenice River, crossing the first bridge and passing through a stone gate. The path leads under natural and carved rock overhangs. Eventually, the group will reach the ferry quay over the weir. On the opposite bank, the wooden salmon crossing is clearly visible.
- Edmundova soutěska - The group boards the ferry to enjoy a ride through the Wild Gorge, which is half the length of the Edmund Gorge and less crowded, with only two boats. Upon reaching the destination, the tour continues on foot. The bridge then leads to the right bank. At the signpost, the yellow route is left behind to follow the blue markers to Mezní Louka, where the car awaits and lunch can be enjoyed.

- Pravčická brána - Sokoli hnízdo - The next stop is Pravčice Gate, a symbol of Bohemian Switzerland. This area is part of the National Park, the youngest of the Czech Republic’s four national parks, and is included in the larger Elbe Sandstones territory, known as Czech and Saxon Switzerland for nearly two centuries. This romantic name is partly credited to Adrian Zingg and Anton Graff, two Swiss painters and teachers at the Dresden Academy in the mid-18th century. They traveled along the Elbe to visit places between Pirna and Hřensko, and their paintings inspired local veduta works and promoted the natural beauty of the area. From the second half of the 19th century, the area gained popularity, supported by the landowners, the Kinský and Clary-Aldringen families, who made the most interesting locations accessible to tourists, such as the Kamenice River Canyon, Pravčice Gate, and the lookouts near Jetřichovice, the Kamenice Gorge.

A breathtaking landscape featuring majestic rock structures, narrow passageways, look-out towers and high plateaus extending towards the German border awaits your exploration. As we trek through this terrain, you will come across the Pravčická Gate, Europe’s largest rock bridge, and several stunning rock viewpoints that tower high above the treetops as well as the Kamenice river canyon.
The region’s unique geographical features can offer prospective health benefits. The heat emanated from the rocky cliffs and plateaus result in powerful thermal updrafts. These uplifts facilitate the blending of the lower atmospheric layer with the air higher up, which is pure air transported in from the North Sea. This blend with the warm dry thermals creates a particularly healthful atmosphere. People have long recognized this area as an ‘air spa’.
