“The day trip you’re looking for! - Lived up to my expectations and then some! Jeff was a fantastic guide knowledgeable in a number of relevant subjects (the flora and fauna, wild mushrooms, sauna culture, etc) as well as a great general conversationalist. The hike was a laid back walk through the woods with tall pine and spruce stands passing by a couple of lakes, eventually ending up at a campsite where Jeff cooked a delicious lunch of sausage and vegetables. The sauna portion was fantastic and, with the traditional Finnish smoke sauna element, was different than one I’d visited in the city. I went in three of the saunas and cold plunged into the frigid lake a couple of times over the course of an hour and a half or so, alongside seasoned Finnish sauna vets both young and old. The entire endeavor from pick up in Helsinki to dropoff lasted around 6 hours. An unforgettable experience.” - Reviewed on 2025-03-23
