Arrival in Cairo

Cairo – Giza Pyramids – Saqqara
Giza - After breakfast, guests will be picked up for an official introduction to Cairo. The day will be steeped in ancient history, beginning at the Giza Plateau with the awe-inspiring sight of the Great Sphinx. Visitors will explore the pyramids of Menkaure, Cheops, and Chefren, dating back to approximately 2580-2560 BC. The next destination is the Saqqara Plateau, another UNESCO World Heritage site, featuring the impressive step pyramid of Djoser, the first successful attempt at a fully functional pyramid.
Alexandria – Amphitheater – Pompey’s Pillar – Qaitbay Citadel
City Centre Alexandria - After breakfast, guests will drive to Alexandria, the capital of Egypt during the Ptolemaic era. The tour begins with a visit to the site of the ancient Bibliotheca Alexandrina, followed by lunch at a quality local restaurant. The next stop is the Roman Amphitheater, featuring 13 rows of white European marble seating and granite columns from Aswan. The city tour continues with a visit to Pompey’s Pillar, a massive Corinthian column built to support a statue of Emperor Diocletian. Before returning to Cairo, the final visit will be to the Citadel of Qaitbay, a 15th-century fortress in the harbor of Pharos Island. Guests will then be transported back to Cairo.
Museum of Egyptian Antiquities – Citadel – Khan el Khalili
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - After breakfast, the day begins with a Cairo City Tour, starting at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, which houses artifacts from tombs, temples, and palaces across Egypt from ancient dynasties. Guests will enjoy a guided tour with ample time to explore independently. After lunch at an authentic restaurant, the tour continues to Islamic Cairo, dominated by the Saladin Citadel, an 800-year-old fortress and residence, where visitors will see the Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. The day concludes with a shopping opportunity at the famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar, offering a sensory experience with vibrant colors, sounds, the aroma of bakhoor and spices, and Egyptian hospitality.
Transfer to the Nile Cruise & Aswan Tours
Aswan - A licensed tour guide will meet and assist guests at the Aswan railway station or hotel, transferring them by air-conditioned van to their 5-star Nile Cruise for check-in before lunch. After lunch on board, the tour begins with a visit to the High Dam, completed in 1960 to protect Egypt from flooding and generate electricity. The tour proceeds to the Graeco-Roman Temple dedicated to the goddess Isis, accessed by a small motorboat. Guests will return to the cruise for dinner, a folkloric show, and an overnight stay.
Abu Simbel Temple & Navigation to Kom Ombo Temple
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - At approximately 4:30 am, guests will be picked up for a trip to Abu Simbel. Arriving around 8 am, they will visit the remarkable rock-cut temples of Abu Simbel, uniquely designed for King Ramses II and his beloved Queen Nefertari. Guests will return to the cruise by noon for lunch and sail towards Kom Ombo city. Upon arrival, they will visit the dual temple of Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. Afterward, guests will return to the cruise for dinner and continue sailing to Edfu for an overnight stay.
Edfu Temple & Arrival in Luxor (visit Luxor Temple)
Edfu - Following breakfast, guests will enjoy a horse carriage ride with their tour guide to visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, considered the most complete and best-preserved of all Egyptian temples. After returning to the cruise, guests can relax on deck, taking in the unique landscape and beautiful scenery of the Nile River while sailing to Luxor. They will cross the Esna Lock and have lunch on board, followed by afternoon tea on the sundeck. Late in the afternoon, guests will be transferred to enjoy Luxor Temple on the East Bank of Luxor, where ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic features are displayed. Dinner on board will include a belly dancing show, with an overnight stay in Luxor. Note: If guests arrive at the Luxor dock by 3:00 or 3:30 pm, there is an opportunity to visit both Karnak and Luxor Temples.
Balloon Ride, Luxor Tour & Departure Transfer
Valley of the Kings - The day begins around 5:00 am with a pick-up for an incredible 30 to 45-minute hot air balloon flight over the West Bank of Luxor. After breakfast, guests will embark on an unforgettable day by driving to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, where New Kingdom pharaohs carved their tombs into the mountains to hide their treasures and protect their mummies. The tour continues to the Mortuary Temple of the famous Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari, where guests can discover her beautiful temple and intriguing story with her nephew. The West Bank tour concludes with a photo stop in front of the colossal statues of Memnon. Lunch at a local restaurant is optional. Guests will then return to the East Bank to see the largest temple ever built, Karnak Temple, which was constructed over 2000 years and covers an area of about 63 acres. Guests can take memorable photos among its massive pillars and obelisks. Finally, guests will be transferred to Luxor Airport for a flight to Cairo and an overnight stay in a Cairo hotel.
Final Departure
Cairo - After an early breakfast, guests will be transported to Cairo International Airport around 5:30 am for their flight back home.
