Temple of Philae - The Temples of Philae, located 12 kilometers south of Aswan, are among Nubia’s most significant monument sites. This ancient pilgrimage center for the cult of Isis has captivated travelers for centuries. Revered from the Pharaonic era through the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine periods, each ruler left their mark on the stones here. Saved from submersion by UNESCO’s rescue project, which relocated the monuments block by block from Philae Island to Agilika Island, the temples continue to enchant visitors today.

Temple of Horus - Built between 237 and 57 BC, this Ptolemaic temple is one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient monuments. Preserved by desert sand after the pagan cult was banned, the temple is dedicated to Horus, the avenging son of Isis and Osiris.
