A visit to Egypt is incomplete without seeing the Pyramids of Giza. Even if you’ve visited Egypt multiple times, the Pyramids and Sphinx at the base of the Giza plateau are iconic images of Egypt. Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - The most prominent feature of Saqqara is the Step Pyramid, the tomb of the Third Dynasty ruler Djoser, constructed by Imhotep. It is considered the earliest major stone structure in Egypt. The pyramid’s form evolved from the large mastabas (mud-brick tombs) of the First and Second Dynasties, with six steps, each smaller than the one below, created by adding successive layers of masonry. The Step Pyramid stands 60 meters high and is built from locally quarried clay sandstone. Entry is no longer permitted due to safety concerns. The pyramid’s interior chambers and passages were used for the burial of the King’s close relatives and for storing grave goods for the deceased.

Memphis and Saqqara - Memphis was the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch, the first nome of Lower Egypt. Its ruins are near the town of Mit Rahina and feature the largest statue made by man, the great statue of King Ramses II, and the alabaster Sphinx of Queen Hatshepsut.

Visitors can also admire colossal statues, royal mummies, jewelry, and reliefs that narrate the story of ancient Egypt. Its modern design, Grand Staircase, and glass façade offer breathtaking views of the pyramids, making it a world-class cultural landmark.

Cairo Citadel - The Saladin Citadel of Cairo is a medieval Islamic fortification located on Mokattam Hill near the city center. Once known for its refreshing breeze and panoramic views of Cairo, it is now a preserved historic site.

Coptic Cairo - Coptic Cairo is a section of Old Cairo that includes the Babylon Fortress, the Coptic Museum, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George, and many other Coptic churches and historical sites.

Khan Al-Khalili - Khan el-Khalili is a major market in the historic center of Islamic Cairo. The bazaar district is a key attraction for both tourists and locals.
