Full disclosure, really I come to class for the maple cappuccinos… It does not get any better than a Sunday morning class at SGK on a beautiful fall day in Vermont – the “chillaxing” French music, the intimate class size of nice people, and an opportunity to learn something new. It was a fun switch to make something savory this time and the class length was a bit shorter to enjoy the day. The pork pie with red onion chutney class seemed slightly easier to me than other classes (or perhaps my baking skills are improving?), and the creative discussions & demonstrations for variances on the primary recipe were a bonus. What I love about Gesine’s classes is that she has such a thoughtful ability to teach the science of baking while providing a most welcome artistic outlet.
