Sheer perfection! - My daughter, a fashion design student, requested that we book this tour. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. Fascinating to learn about silk from worm to scarf.

Fascinating insight into silk making - The guide Dung was pleasant , interesting and informative . The driver efficient and helpful. Interesting to see how the beautiful fabrics are created from the silk worm cocoon, to preparing yarn and then weaving. Warning, most shops are family owned and do not accept credit cards., so take cash .

A must, if you love silk! - If you want to buy silk, wait until you go to the government "co-op" store, 2nd half of the tour. I bought gorgeous pieces at reasonable prices, custom fitted while we had tea. Our guide "Happy" was great! A delightful young man, obviously proud of his culture. Very sweet and accommodating to our interests. I was delighted to visit the looms and see exquisite silk being made.

My Husband and I really enjoyed the... -
My Husband and I really enjoyed the tour, The guide was a lovely lady with good english. She enjoyed giving us a short history of Hanoi and silk/silk industry. Van was comfortable, cold water provided. I thought there would be many opportunities for me to buy silk in Hanoi/Ha Long bay, but I didn't get any other than on this tour, so now I wish I had purchased more silk satin fabric around 14-00 per mtr, I thought the price was very good and also purchased some finished items of clothing and soft furnishings. A simple silk scarf I love and a long silk skirt for my daughter among other things. I thought this was a nice easy way to spend a afternoon, but if you are not into fabric, you may not find it worthwhile.
