A guided food tour in Hanoi - Apple (Tang) was so enthusiastic and always smiling and happy to give us lots of information. She knew her stuff! Interested to try the different Vietnamese specialties … loved the coconut ice cream and sticky rice … and who’d have thought egg coffee could be so nice?! We ended up at Train Street drinking Hanoi beer 🍻😋! Thank you Apple 👍

Poor customer service / Tourist tour - Unfortunately not a great experience, having been on quite a few previous food tours this was by far the worst. We were told to arrive at 17.50, which we did. The office was full of a large American tour group. We were told to come back in 20 minutes while they dealt with this group. We did this, now there was another large group in the office and we were asked to come back again in 10 minutes. I refused and said I thought this was very poor customer service, so then our guide came out and said ‘let’s go!’. Just the 2 of us, which was weird as we’d been told earlier in the day that there were currently 8 people booked and it could go up to 14. Anyway, fine by us as we got a private tour. Justin, our guide, was lovely and very knowledgeable. BUT: The places visited were very touristic, definitely NOT where the locals go! Literally tour group after tour group… At the Bun Cha place, we were not served the spring rolls that literally every other table had, and we also didn’t get the vegetables to go with the soup. I asked at the end why we didn’t get these items and was told that the spring rolls weren’t included, and that they forgot to bring the vegetables! We did eat some nice things, and train street was really fun, but overall a pretty disappointing experience. All other food tours we’ve been on I’ve rated 5/5 including one in Ho Chi Minh the previous week.
