West Lake Pleasure Boat - After your walk, unwind with a 40-minute private boat ride on the stunning West Lake. Take in the breathtaking views of islands, causeways, temples, pagodas, and ornamental plants. If you’re fortunate, you might witness the enchanting “Three Pools Mirroring the Moon.”
Meijiawu - The next destination is Hangzhou’s Meijiawu Longjing Tea Plantation, renowned for its Dragon Well tea, nestled in the hills around West Lake. This is the birthplace of China’s most famous tea. Join a local tea grower in the mountains to pick tea leaves and learn some tea-picking techniques. Visit the tea farmer’s home to discover the stir-frying process and try it yourself under the farmer’s guidance. After experiencing the tea-making process, savor the authentic Hangzhou Longjing tea. You’ll have plenty of time to visit a local restaurant to enjoy authentic cuisine and relax.
Feilai Peak - In the afternoon, transfer to the nearby Feilai Peak, located about 3 km west of West Lake. Also known as Peak Flying from Afar, legend says it flew to China from India to spread Buddhism. The area is famous for its numerous Buddhist carvings along the riverbanks and hillsides, hidden within grottoes. Standing 168 meters tall, Feilai Peak is made of limestone and features various fascinating caves formed by long-term groundwater erosion, including Longhong Cave, Jade Breast (Yuru) Cave, Shooting Sun (Shexu) Cave, and Roaring Ape (Huyuan) Cave. The caves’ unique rock formations resemble flying dragons, running elephants, startled apes, and crouching tigers. After the tour, you’ll be escorted back to your downtown hotel.
Xixi Wetland
Xixi National Wetland Park - Start your trip with a pickup from your downtown Hangzhou hotel or Hangzhou train station. Enjoy a comfortable ride with a licensed driver who will assist with your luggage and take you to the first attraction, Xixi Wetland Park. This is China’s first and only wetland park that combines urban life, farming, and culture. Xixi Wetland Park is divided into the east and west districts. Begin with the west district, also known as “Xixi Wetland-Hong Park,” branded by the Hong Family. Xixi Hong Park boasts rich historical and cultural heritage, including Hong’s culture and Wuchang folk culture, represented by the national intangible cultural heritage project “Wuchang Dragon Boat Regatta and 18 Kinds of Martial Arts.” Explore the quaint courtyard to learn about Hong’s culture. Then, enjoy a 90-minute boat ride to admire the beautiful natural scenery and ancient buildings on both sides. If you’re lucky, you might spot wild ducks, swans, white storks, pelicans, wild geese, egrets, goshawks, and more. Afterward, you’ll have ample time to explore the East district, featuring the park’s representative scenic spots—ponds, greenery, reeds, pleasure boats, and bluestone-paved roads. After the tour, you’ll be escorted to catch your train or return to your downtown hotel.
