The tour begins at Guo’s Villa, a unique garden-like villa known for its elegance and tranquility. Named after Guo Shilin, this villa dates back nearly 140 years to the Qing Dynasty and spans 9,800 square meters. Guo’s Villa is divided into two sections: the northern garden section, “Sky in the Mirror,” and the southern residential section, “Living in Quietness,” featuring a pavilion-style house with a courtyard.
- Longjing Tea Fields - The next stop is Meijiawu Tea Culture Village, located west of the West Lake Scenic Area. This village, with over 600 years of history, is the largest natural village producing the renowned West Lake Dragon Well Tea. Meijiawu Village is celebrated not only for its exceptional tea and tea culture but also for its picturesque scenery, rarely found in urban areas. The village comprises eight tourist sections, including the tea culture tourist center, rural leisure area, and a fishing village.
- Former Residence of Xueyan Hu - After lunch, explore the Former Residence of Hu Xueyan. Hu Xueyan (1823-1885), a notable Hangzhou figure, was among the wealthiest and most renowned businessmen of the Qing Dynasty (1636-1911). Located in downtown Hangzhou, this residence offers a glimpse into the life of Hangzhou’s richest merchant from the Qing Dynasty. It is a labyrinth of towers, gardens, pavilions, terraces, arched bridges, grand halls, and peaceful living quarters, showcasing ancient Chinese culture through its remarkable architecture, philosophy, and enduring folklore customs.
- Southern Song Imperial Street - Post-lunch, visit the Southern Song Imperial Street, a main avenue from the Southern Song Dynasty. Historical records indicate that over 10,000 flagstones were used in its construction. Once the central axis of Linan city during the Southern Song Dynasty, the street stretches 4,185 meters and features 13 historical and cultural relics and buildings, including the Phoenix Temple, a key national cultural relic protection unit.
- Hangzhou Qiantang River Bridge - The final stop is Hangzhou City Balcony, the central business district of Hangzhou. This area beautifully blends the historical and cultural essence of Hangzhou with the majesty of the Qiantang River. It boasts modern high-rise buildings, the tallest exceeding 300 meters. Over the years, Qianjiang New City has significantly contributed to the city’s growth in business, finance, trade, and tourism.
After the tour concludes, you will be driven back to your hotel in Hangzhou or the Hangzhou train station.
