A good day in Hamburg - We had a great time learning about the history of Hamburg. Our tour guide, Victor was very knowledgeable and loved to tell stories. There were times where he might have gotten a little carried away with some of his stories, but he was entertaining. We happened to be in town the day before an Ironman competition, so the center of the city was busy. It would have been nice to have the tour end at the town hall, where we started. He kind of left us off in an unknown part to the city. Overall, a good couple of hours. As you all know, even though it is advertised as a free tour, they certainly let everyone know that tips are expected.

Highly recommended with Stephan! - Our guide Stephan was very experienced, his explanations combined historical with current topics. We were very surprised which paths we did not yet know despite frequent visits to Hamburg. Other useful and good hints for our stay were also not missing.

Interesting and enjoyable - It's a great tour if you want to learn more about Hamburg, its history and culture. There are many interesting and surprising facts, yet you don't feel overwhelmed with information. It's well-paced, you get plenty of time at each point of the tour to look around and take photos. Shout out to Philip, our guide, for the creative and fun storytelling. At the end of the tour he also gave us cool recommendations of places to try. 5/5 stars from me.

Book directly - Super interesting tour. Skilled and obvious guide who both told history but also questioned our mindset. Although the trip was of 2 hours, the walking length was not overwhelming. The guide spoke an easy-to-understand English and was responsive to questions. The trip was free - which of course gave rise to drinking money. Unfortunately I had booked the trip via Tripadvisor and paid for it - I could as well have booked directly - and especially because the guide hadn't got us on the list. But we were lucky and were allowed to join anyway.

Wonderful historic walking tour for families. - Viktor was a great guide! Wonderful history of Hamburg woven with some lessons of life. Viktor even took us by a great little alley restaurant after the tour (on his way to his next tour) he recommended. You could tell he really cares about the experience he creates and honestly that the world becomes a better place where we listen to one another more.
