About the Park:
Bundala National Park is located in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1969 and became a national park in 1993. Particularly between May and July, these habitats serve as nesting and breeding grounds for thousands of migratory birds. The park boasts nearly 400 plant species, approximately 200 bird species—58 of which are migratory—32 mammal species, 48 reptile species, 15 amphibian species, 32 fish species, and 52 butterfly species.
