A beautiful time in Hallstatt - Eric was our guide for our trip to Hallstatt. He was really interesting and the trip was really well organised. Lots of things pointed out along the way and the passion for his country was obvious. Hallstatt was amazing! A beautiful little village in the mountains with beautiful painted houses. Take the road tot the left up the hill as you go into the village, it avoids the crowds and goes up high for better views. You get around 2.5 hours in the village which is enough o wander around and get something to eat and drink. There is a ferry that goes over to the other side of the lake which takes around half an hour there and back. We didn’t do this, but I guess you would get lovely views of the village if you did. The funicular and cable cars were not running when we were there in March, but again, this would be an option at other times of the year. We would love to go back and go up the mountain. Thoroughly recommend Panorama Tours as they are really well organised and their tour guides are the best!

About Half day tour of Salzburg - Been to Salzburg for half a day (4 hours to be precise) after completing the visit to Hallstatt. Unfortunately it was raining heavily that day so it was difficult to move around yet could see the Mirabel palace and the city. Salzburg public transport is very good, no issue going around anywhere. Most of the tourist areas are walkable from Salzburg main station. Mirabel palace and its gardens is a must see, beautiful gardens with flowers, sculptures and lots of greenery. Well Maintained. Nearby is the old town with medieval period beautiful lanes and cafes, Mozart Birthplace, St Peters Abbey (AD 696). Consider taking a walk in the old town on the banks of the Salzach river. Could not visit the Hohensalzburg Fortress due to very heavy rain however could go to the Hohenwerfen Fortress the next day which is near werfen.

Hallstatt tour - This tour didn't disappoint. The weather was beautiful and the scenery was breathtaking. Our driver, Mitch was very knowledgeable and he gave us useful information regarding a route to follow through the town. The bakery by the bus station, Maislinger, is well worth a visit!!! Would recommend.
