Great! - Excellent trip with very good organisation. As advertised, this is primarily a transfer to Hallstatt rather than a fully guided tour, which is exactly what makes it so convenient. Being picked up from central Salzburg and taken directly to Hallstatt saves a significant amount of time compared to travelling by train, which usually involves changes and takes much longer. You’re essentially paying a bit extra over the train fare for that added comfort and simplicity. The guide provided commentary during the journey with some genuinely interesting information, which was a nice bonus, and our bus driver was excellent as well. We had around 2.5 hours of free time in Hallstatt, which was more than enough to explore at our own pace. Overall, for the price paid, this tour offers very good value for money, particularly for the comfort and convenience it provides.

Lovely little village! Worth it! - Lovely day trip! Definitely worth seeing! Take cash, as there are few ATMs and you don’t want to be stuck on a day when they aren’t working. Many stores and cafes only accept cash.

Snowy Hallstatt - Pretty little place, especially in the snow. Had a wander around the shops and got a lovely Glühwein from the kiosk at the pier. Definitely worth a visit.

Unmissable - I highly recommend the trip. The scenery along the way is beautiful, and Hallstatt itself is simply stunning. A perfect place.

Great day trip from Salzburg - Guide was awesome on the bus ride. The bus ride was there and back was very scenic. The 2 hours was a perfect amount of time. The bus itself is nice and clean. I would highly recommend this tour.

Hallstatt Vienna - Hallstatt has been rewarded as the most cleansed village in the world. And yes, I was excited to visit the place. I booked a cab from my hotel at Vienna and after a few stops I arrived at Hallstatt village in about 4 hours. It was too crowded and too hot on a summer evening. There are many cafes and bars along the village. I liked the souvenir shops. Most of the vendors accept cash only so that was a challenge. The village is hyped as I have seen much better places in Vienna. Overall an average experience.

Scenic route to Halstatt.... - Scenic route to Halstatt. Not all shops were open on Sunday. The cable car is under construction so not much activity. Still worth a visit.

Skip it. Go on your own - We thought Halstatt would be a fun trip. All the descriptions included three things to do once we got there: a funicular up to the Sky Walk, a ferry boat ride on the lake, and the Bone House. We didn't find out until we arrived at Halstatt that we couldn't do any of the three. The funicular was closed for repairs. The Bone House didn't open until the time we had to go back to the bus to leave. And our tour guide told us we would miss the return bus if we took the ferry ride. So there's nothing to do in Halstatt except walk around an old and charming village that's become not much more than a tourist trap. Tacky souvenir shops, overpriced cafes, and a horde of tourists off the tour busses all walking on the same short main street. It has a pretty view of the lake and mountains, but we would have saved a lot of money by just taking the bus or train ourselves. We paid about $90 US for each of us while the train would have cost nearly half as much. Going on our own would also have given us more time to see the Bone House and take the ferry ride. In addition, the tour guide had such a thick accent that his English was indecipherable and the volume of the audio system was too low despite us telling him to turn it up. We spent the entire ride not being able to understand him at all. And the bottom line is that this tour gave us zero added value.

Bad guide, Mid Tour. - Leo was an incredibly negligent and rude tour guide. He was nice to everyone else but very unlikable towards us. He often brought up if we could pay his hypothetical tickets, and snapped at us for asking questions to clarify. Furthermore, he forgot key details of our party and actively displayed differential treatment towards us, even refusing to help our elderly member off the van where he helped others. His tour was alright, however most things said were negligible and of minimal interest. Especially at 8:15 in the morning.
