Tatev University’s scholars played a vital role in safeguarding Armenian culture and beliefs during one of the most unstable eras of its history.
The monastery is the most famous landmark in Syunik. In October 2010, the ‘Wings of Tatev’ - a cable car track from Tatev to Halidzor village was inaugurated. It holds a Guinness World Records title for being the ‘longest uninterrupted double track cableway.
