Day 4: Shira 2 Camp (3850m) Via Lava Tower 4600m then Down to Barranco Camp (3900m)
Mount Kilimanjaro - The trek begins with an ascent offering expansive panoramic views, reaching the upland desert’s climatic zone. Day 5: Barranco Camp (3900m) to Karanga Camp (4000m)

Passing beneath the Heim and Kersten glaciers, the route heads towards the Karanga Valley. With Kibo glaciers towering above, the descent is stunning. From the camp, the jagged peaks of Mawenzi are visible to the east. After a hot lunch at camp, the afternoon is free, though resting and a quick nap are recommended. This short day is crucial for acclimatization as the summit push approaches. For those feeling strong, a mid-afternoon acclimatization trek to around 4200m is available before descending back to camp for the night.
Day 6: Karanga Camp (4000 m) to Barafu Camp (4640m)
Mount Kilimanjaro - After breakfast, the hike to Barafu Camp (4640 m) begins. Along the way, enjoy the stunning views of the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Upon reaching Uhuru Peak, it’s time to celebrate the achievement. Photos are taken to share with friends and family back home.
