Longji Terraced Fields are situated in Longsheng County of Guilin City, encompassing six villages with a history spanning over 2,000 years. The local Zhuang and Yao communities have cultivated these mountainous fields tirelessly over the years. The Ancient Zhuang Village is the birthplace of the Zhuang people’s terraced fields. The village’s highest point is approximately 1,300 meters, while the lowest is 350 meters. The terraced fields here are truly spectacular!
After taking in the stunning terraced fields scenery from the Slender Ditch viewpoint, you will hike to another renowned village – Ping’an Village. This hike covers about 8 kilometers and takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
- Ping’an Village - Following lunch, you’ll begin a visit to Longji’s most famous village – Ping’an Village. Here, you’ll witness the most breathtaking and magnificent terraced fields scenery in Longji! Numerous award-winning photographs have been captured in this village.
After visiting the Seven Star with Moon viewpoint, you’ll have the opportunity to interview an elderly Yao lady with long hair from a nearby village to learn about another ethnic group – the Yao people, known for their red clothing and distinctive long hair culture for women. In their tradition, girls are only allowed to cut their hair twice in their lifetime.
Following the interview with the Yao lady, you’ll proceed to the most stunning viewpoint – Nine Dragons and Five Tigers. This viewpoint is undoubtedly the highlight of the day!
Time: 16:00–18:00, Drive back to Guilin or Yangshuo
The trip concludes after visiting the Nine Dragons and Five Tigers viewpoint. You’ll be safely dropped off at your hotel in Guilin or Yangshuo.
