Guilin - In the morning, an English-speaking driver will collect you from your hotel around 07:45 and take you to the Zhujiang pier. Here, you will embark on the Guilin Li River cruise to Yangshuo on a 4-star boat, complete with a buffet lunch. Boat tickets can be arranged upon request.
Li River - Boarding is at 9:20 am, and the cruise lasts approximately 4 hours. With the guidance and insights from the boat guide, you can fully appreciate the breathtaking karst landscape, featuring rolling hills, lush forests, unique caves, and peaceful villages along the Li River. A buffet-style Chinese lunch will be served on board before arriving in Yangshuo at 2:00 pm.
Xianggong Mountain - After disembarking, you will be driven to Yangshuo’s Xianggong Hill. A 15-minute climb up a moderately inclined staircase leads to the top of Xianggong Hill. Situated between the renowned Yellow Cloth Shoal and Mural Hill, Xianggong Hill offers one of the best vantage points in Guilin to admire the beauty of the Li River. The stunning view of the Li River’s 180-degree bend draws numerous visitors and photographers each year.
Yangshuo County - Finally, your driver will take you to your hotel in Yangshuo, where you will have free time. There is an option to attend the ‘Impression Sanjie Liu’ night show, performed on and above the Li River against the backdrop of lush hills. The enchanting stage effects and authentic singing and dancing by ethnic minorities have earned the performance high praise from visitors. The show starts at 20:00 and lasts for 70 minutes, with ticket prices ranging from CNY 268 to CNY 368, depending on seating. If interested, the driver can reserve tickets and escort you to the venue after dinner.
Yangshuo. O/N Yangshuo.
Yangshuo County - In the morning, your driver will pick you up from the hotel around 09:00 and take you to the Yulong River for the Yangshuo Yulong bamboo boat tour.
Yulong River - A bamboo raft ride on the Yulong River, a tributary of the Li River, offers a serene way to enjoy the picturesque area south of Yangshuo. You can take in the stunning scenery and rural life from a non-motorized raft, steered by a gondolier over breakwaters past small mud-brick villages and farmlands. Once on the bamboo raft, you can relax and enjoy the peaceful countryside and limestone mountains. Even if you’ve cycled the area, the view from the river offers a different perspective. The boat ride lasts 90 minutes, one way.
Fuli Ancient Town - Next, you will travel by car to Yangshuo’s Fuli Town, a 20-minute journey. Here, you can experience local farmers’ lives, visit the local market, and explore the old streets to see fans, paintings, and water buffalo near the river’s end.
Xingping Town - Once a quiet riverside village, Xingping has grown into a town with an old center that can be explored in about an hour. Xingping has a rich history, with many buildings dating back to the Qing and Ming dynasties. On market days, the town becomes lively as locals from nearby villages come to trade their goods. Restaurants and coffee shops offer the local specialty, beer fish, and local handicrafts, including affordable handmade jewelry. The scenery around Xingping is stunning and is featured on the national 20 RMB note.
Yangshuo County - At the end of the day, you will be driven back to your hotel in Yangshuo.
Yangshuo - Longji terraces. O/N Ping’an village.
Yangshuo County - Your driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby around 09:00 in the morning. You will be driven to Guilin city center, a 90-minute, 60 km journey.
Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan) - First, you will visit the Reed Flute Cave before checking into your hotel in Guilin. Located in the northwest suburb of Guilin, Guangxi, China, 7 km from the city center, the Reed Flute Cave is a scenic spot featuring a vast array of exquisite stalagmites, stalactites, stone pillars, and stone curtains that have formed over 180 million years. It is also known as “the Palace of Natural Art.”
Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbishan) - Next, you will visit Elephant Trunk Hill, a popular attraction and landmark in the center of Guilin City. The beautiful natural scenery combined with valuable cultural landscapes makes it a captivating place that enchants tourists.
Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - After lunch, you will head to Longsheng to visit the Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces. Located 27 kilometers (16 miles) from Longsheng town, the terraces stretch layer upon layer from the mountain base to its summit. Constructed by the local Zhuang people during the Yuan Dynasty in the 13th century, the terraces now cover an area of 66 square kilometers (about 16,308 acres) and range in altitude from 300 meters (about 984 feet) to 1,100 meters (about 3,608 feet). Standing on the mountain, you will be amazed by the fields and curved lines around the mountains. You will also visit the Zhuang Villages to experience the unique Chinese ethnic culture.
Ping’an village - Sanjiang. O/N Zhaoxing.
Ping’an Village - In the morning, you can hike around the village to visit the Nine Dragons & Five Tigers viewpoint and the Seven Stars with Moon viewpoint area. Meet your driver at 11:00 am and drive to Sanjiang Chengyang Dong village, a 1.5-hour drive.
Chengyang Bridge Scenic Resort - In the village, you will see the landmark constructions of the Dong village, including the Wind and Rain Bridge and the Drum Tower. Built with wood and bricks, the Wind and Rain Bridge combines the styles of a bridge, corridor, and kiosk, reflecting the unique Dong style and the wisdom of the Dong people. Originally built to provide shelter for field workers, it later became a popular meeting place for young people and a famous attraction for visitors worldwide. The Drum Tower, located in the village center, serves as the political and cultural hub. When the village chief beats the drum on the top floor, villagers stop their work and gather around the Drum Tower.
Zhaoxing DongZhai - At the end of the day, you will be driven back to your hotel in Zhaoxing village.

Dong Nationality Style Village of Zhanli - Next, you will visit Zhanli village, located about 16 kilometers from Congjiang county. Zhanli village is a gathering point for the Dong ethnic group, home to 836 villagers in 186 households. During the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Zhanli’s ancestors established a rule to balance the population with the amount of cultivated land. If you wish to explore further, you can visit Huanggang village, another Dong ethnic gathering. Huanggang village celebrates many local festivals, with the most important ones held on January 7 and June 15 of the Chinese lunar calendar. Located in remote mountains, Huanggang maintains production and living customs that have endured for thousands of years.
Zhaoxing DongZhai - At the end of the day, you will be driven back to your hotel.
Zhaoxing - Congjiang - Kaili. O/N Kaili.
Xiaohuang Village - Afterward, you will transfer to Yintan Dong village in Congjiang, similar to Xiaohuang village. Yintan Dong village, located about twenty kilometers from Congjiang, is one of the most representative Dong villages in Guizhou, known for its Dong buildings and daily life. Although the houses are relatively recent (50-100 years old), they adhere to Dong architectural rules. The village’s natural environment, houses, drum towers, and pavilions are distinctly different from those in the West. The village’s drum tower stands 21 feet high in the center, making it a prominent feature. Visitors feel transported in time amidst the well-preserved buildings.
Kaili - You will then transfer to Congjiang, stopping at Shiqiao village along the way. Located about 2.5 km southeast of Danzhai County, Shiqiao Miao Village is known for its traditional paper-making. The Miao ethnic group there still leads a self-sufficient lifestyle. Shiqiao Miao village has over 300 households, with more than 1300 residents. About 60 households are involved in paper-making, and many Miao people excel in this craft.
Kaili - Langde village - Guiyang. O/N Guiyang.
Miao Village - Before heading to Guiyang, you will visit the Lanhua, Jidao, and Langde Miao villages, located about an hour’s drive from Kaili city center. Langde village is 30 km from Kaili, nestled beside a clear stream and surrounded by green mountains. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with “block-the-way” wine, a local custom. Twelve tables are set along the path from the highroad to the village gate. You will then visit traditional Miao-style stilt houses and enjoy sweet Miao folk songs. Afterward, you can freely explore the cobblestone or bluestone-paved roads and courtyards.
Guiyang - At the end of the day, you will be driven back to your hotel in Guiyang.

Guiyang - Your driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby around 09:00 in the morning. You will be driven to the famous Huangguoshu Waterfall, a 120-minute ride.
Huangguoshu Water Falls - The Huangguoshu Waterfall, a miniature Milky Way, is the largest waterfall in Asia. Standing 74 meters (243 feet) high and 81 meters (266 feet) wide, it is a scenic wonder not to be missed in Guizhou Province. The waterfall national park includes three main areas: Waterfalls Cluster, Water-Curtain Cave, and Rhinoceros Pool (Xi Niu Tan). First, visit the Waterfall-Viewing Pavilion (Guan Pu Ting) for a panoramic view of the entire waterfall. Then, from the Water-Viewing Pavilion (Wang Shui Ting), you can witness the grand scene of surging water. The third pavilion, also called Water-Viewing Pavilion (Wang Shui Ting), is located beside the Rhinoceros Pool. The spectacular night view of the grand waterfall leaves a lasting impression.
Tun Bu Village - After lunch, you will visit Tunbao Village in Tianlong. Tunbao culture is unique and traditional, featuring special traditional clothing designed from head to toe and Di Xi, a type of drama where performers wear masks and hold stage props.
Guiyang - You will then return to Guiyang city around 18:00 pm.
Guiyang - Chongqing. The tour ends.
Guiyang - Today, there are no scheduled activities. You will be transported to Chongqing airport or hotel, a 5-hour, 400 km journey.
Chongqing - Upon arrival in Chongqing, your driver will drop you off at the airport, hotel, or cruise port, marking the end of your 9-day tour.
