Sue was an outstanding docent. She was very knowledgeable, thorough, pleasant and informative.
Beautiful pieces from all around the world! Very interesting history and very knowledgeable guide.
Loved having the homeowner talk about the house and art from his perspective.
The tour leader was one of the best we have experienced. My husband and I told her at the end she was much more thorough than the tour leader we had at Monticello. Kudos to her. Incredible knowledge.
Areas had so many objects it was almost overwhelming
Informative tour.... just the right length. Great house
It was an incredible, fascinating tour of an eccentric collection. It was not what we expected, we expected it to have more to do with the Calhoun foly history. But what was in the house was infinitely more interesting than what we expected. It was the arts and artifacts collection of an imaginative collector. The collection had pieces with eye-opening history, interest, and value. Our tour group could not stop saying "Wow" at each new thing we experienced. The tour guide was also very knowledgeable and engaging.
Excellent and informative tour guide.
So much history to learn about the house and the families that occupied it. Our guide did a great job detailing the past and present history of the home. The contents are jaw dropping. We would recommend the tour to all those touring Old Charleston
We had a good short tour but had a really fantastic long tour the next day at 10 am. We got a good idea of the house's history and construction but found the greatest pleasure in hearing the owner tell about his collection. This is an art museum and I found it fascinating!
extremely informative tour of the history of the house and the items throughout the house.
Informative guide, perfect length
He home is beautifully restored. Lots to see. Wish we could have seen all the rooms.
Beautiful house with an amazing history and art. The tour guy was extremely knowledgeable
Worth the time and money. Very informative and entertaining.

Our tour guide was great!
Josh was an excellent tour guide
This home is amazing! This was our second tour and we loved it even more this time!
The tour guide was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very enthusiastic about her job , which made the tour very interesting and pleasant. We loved seeing the mansion and learning the history behind it
We saw two floors. I think it was about 4000 sq feet of the house. What about seeing some of the other 20000 sq feet. Although our docent was very nice and personable, she kept sticking her finger in her ear. Very off putting. I think the docents should wear something more presentable, like a little cotton dress.
Our tour guide was wonderful. We have had her twice now, She is very knowledgable and informative.
Kelsey was our guide full of spunk and information!
Would have been nice to see the whole house or at least a little more on the second floor.
Our guide was fabulous! The whole family enjoyed the tour. Thank you!
Great tour guide. Well informed, great affection for the home and its history. Knowledge was top flight Only down side - wish I learned more about how the house functioned over time, how families used it and maybe some history of the rooms such as a big event or occasion. This was present but thought too much focus on the contents of the home and collections rather than the home itself and people who walked the halls.
Our guide was SENSATIONAL. No, not just good, but SENSATIONAL! She was so knowledgeable. She is a sophomore at the CofC - cannot remember her name. Sorry about that. We will be bringing all those who come to visit us to this remarkable home and tour. Thanks to the owner for housing this amazing collection here in Charleston. And, BTW, if you do have a Christmas party - we'd love to come to see just exactly where you put that Christmas tree - it was the only question she could not answer! ;-)
Beautiful home, and the tour guide was exceptional. She was very informative and entertaining.
