Hidden Gems and Cultural Immersion Abound - Francisco was a fabulous, enthusiastic and attentive guide who offered a special and customized tour. We all enjoyed the hidden gems and a variety of experiences. From feeding the iguanas to tasting local coffees Francisco shared so much of the culture and history of Guayaquil with our group. Andre, our driver safely and confidently transported us around town. We could not have had a warmer welcome or better 1st day in Ecuador!

See above - Our guide Francisco is very knowledgeable, also absolutely enthusiastic and full of great temperament about showing us his beloved city. He is really friendly, was able to answer all our questions showed us the most important and interesting places, also took us on the cable car ride which was awesome with such a great view over the city.
The driver Andre was always at the correct place and. at the correct time to collect us to take us to the next interesting place.
I can 100% recommend Francisco and Andre to everyone who wishes to have a tour of the Guayaquil 🥰

Don’t hesitate, just do it! - At the end of February, my mom and I came to Guayaquil on our way to the Galapagos. Prior to arriving, we started seeing videos depicting the city as unsafe and warning us to stay in our hotel. Despite the trepidation I had largely because of my mom’s age, I booked a city highlight tour with Protrip through trip advisor. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to do that. Upon booking our private tour, Francisco sent me a message letting me know that Ricardo would be our guide and he would meet us in the lobby of our hotel. During our visit, we saw iguana park, the cathedral, city hall and had delicious cacao ice cream. Not once did I question our safety. The tour was meant to last 3 ish hours however, we really wanted to have lunch somewhere so Ricardo pivoted and took us to a wonderful place in Samboronton, filled with gated communities and lovely restaurants. We dined on ceviche and had wine (not included in tour), essentially taking up the rest of our tour time. We inquired about stopping for a bit of souvenir shopping and while our driver needed to leave for another tour, Ricardo stayed with us and had the driver drop us off at this local vendor market with stalls filled with Ecuadorian goods. Following our shopping time, Ricardo found a taxi driver he knew to drive the 3 of us back to the hotel. He never left our side and made the day touring this beautiful city with my mom a safe and memorable one. So, if you are in the fence about whether to explore when you are there, don’t hesitate. Book your trip with this company and you will be safe, educated with history and have an all-around great experience. Thank you Francisco and Ricardo! It was an amazing day.

Excellent Tour with Simón - We had an excellent city tour of Guayaquil with Simón. The tour was a mix of sights by vehicle and walking. Simón is a fountain of knowledge about the country, city, history and culture. We also fit in a quick tour of the El Museo Del Cacao with Simón as our personal guide and we had a wonderful walk along the promenade. We also visited the Cathedral and Iguana Park. I highly recommend this tour.

Brilliant guide and excellent city tour - I absolutely loved this tour. My guide Francisco was incredible, he’s so knowledgeable about this history and culture of Guayaquil and Ecuador, and took me to all of the best spots. He speaks brilliant English (and of course Spanish!) and really went the extra mile to make me feel comfortable and ensure I enjoyed my time in the city. Our driver Andre was great too, always on time for pickups and friendly. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see and understand the city.

A great introduction to Guayaquil. - Bonnie was just great. Very knowledgeable and passionate about her city and its culture, which we were very interested to learn about.
It was raining off and on (no surprise) and she made adjustments so that we were not walking on slippery surfaces.
Bonnie also coordinated very effectively with our driver such that the transitions were smooth and we were not waiting at any time.
A colorful, vibrant city . We loved the waterfront walk and the contrast of the old city and the new. The museum of cocoa was very interesting.
