We’ll fetch you from your stay in a cozy car featuring air conditioning and your tour guide will pilot your 2-hour drive traversing several quaint villages before arrival. Please note that the admission cost to the rock is not part of the package. Relish the stunning vista from the pinnacle, and we will then proceed…

We’ll fetch you from your stay in a cozy car featuring air conditioning and your tour guide will pilot your 2-hour drive traversing several quaint villages before arrival. Please note that the admission cost to the rock is not part of the package. Relish the stunning vista from the pinnacle, and we will then proceed to the ‘Zócalos’ town for an indulgence in Colombian cuisine, followed by a stroll around the town to immerse in the rich Guatapé culture. We conclude the day with a return trip to the city, or if preferred, we offer complimentary drop-off service at the international airport.

Worth Every Penny! - If you’re looking for a one on one personal experience to tour the city of Guatape, this is it! Ms Yuly was our private tour guide and she was phenomenal. She gave us the ultimate VIP experience. From the fruit tastings, to rock climbing to ATV rides across Guatape, this was worth every penny! Ms. Yuly thank you for making our last day the most memorable.

Phenomenal Time in Medellin with Oscar - I highly recommend booking with this group. We had Oscar and he was phenomenal. From the knowledge of his country to how personable he is. In fact, we enjoyed the first tour to Communa 13 and around Medellin so much we booked a second tour to visit Guatapé with him. 5 star experience for a private tour! Can’t wait to be back!

A Tour to Remember! - Our visit to La Piedra del Peñol with Julio as our guide was truly unforgettable. Julio was kind, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable—not just about Colombia’s history and culture, but also about so many random, interesting facts. There were many moments where it felt like he was part of our group, not just our guide.
Climbing the rock was both fun and adventurous. Tip: bring comfortable shoes and hydrate the night before—it makes a big difference! After the climb, we went jet skiing on the massive lake. The views were stunning, and although we didn’t go too far to avoid getting lost, it was still an amazing experience.
Julio then recommended a restaurant called La Fogata—the food was delicious! If you like spice, definitely try their homemade salsa. Afterward, we explored the colorful streets of Guatapé, where there are plenty of shops for souvenirs. The vibrant buildings and beautiful “zocalos” (decorative panels) are a must-see—each one tells a unique story.
Overall, this tour was the highlight of our trip, and we left feeling like we had gained a new friend in Julio. Highly recommend!

Excellent tour - We loved the tour! Our guide was Henry and he was super friendly. I liked that it was a private tour because we had the opportunity to decide how much time to spend in each activity. I would recommend this tour to everyone!

Guatapé day tour Henry - This tour was an incredible experience that allowed me to discover the beauty and culture of Guatapé. Our guide Henry was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, explained everything about the history and culture of the town, and took us to amazing places like the Peñon de Guatapé, the replica of the old village and ended the day using jet skis. I definitely recommend it.

Unforgettable Experience - The Guatapé + Coffee Farm Tour is a must-do when visiting Medellín! Henry was an exceptional guide—his knowledge and experience were clear throughout the day. At each stop, we had ample personal time and never felt rushed. He shared fantastic food and shopping recommendations, both during the tour and for the rest of our time in Colombia. Henry was professional, yet personable, matching our energy to create a truly unique experience.
Guatapé was absolutely stunning—from climbing La Piedra to strolling through the historic, colorful town. One of the highlights was visiting El Peñol coffee farm, where we met the warm family behind the delicious Café Oriente Excelso. It was an unforgettable experience, especially for any coffee lover.
We can’t wait to return to Colombia and book another tour with Tourguides Medellín!

Great guide in Guatape - The experience was organized and very well prepared. Viator maintained constant communication about the trip and provided the flexibility to pay for it up until the day before the tour which was great.

While our guide was not the best the convenience of getting picked up at our lodging and not being on a bus was worth it - This tour was totally fine. Joshua provided information on the way to the rock. We paid for his lunch & were not thanked. After lunch, we walk through town and paid for his coffee again no thank you. We got a little bit more information about the community and then he was silent unless we asked direct questions and we got a brief answer. We opted for the private boat tour. We were told the fee to pay with a credit card was 10%….. Really!?! Then we got on a boat that had an issue and wouldn't get up to speed. The boat driver climbed on top of us several times to get to the motor. We spent so much time trying to get the boat to work that it speed from point to point to get the ride over with. We did get a bunch of unsolicited photos of his child but No fruit tasting was offered or provided which is described in the itinerary. Finally before we started the hours drive back we were directed to a building to use the bathroom but they wouldn't let us use it. Joshua said that was weird and they should have and then we just got in the car. so knowing we had to use the bathroom along the drive after an hour we had to ask again. From the start his driving was aggressive and that is coming from someone who drives in Chicago for a living. We were is several cars in Columbia and this was unique to this tour. There are great reviews for other guides and none for Joshua so maybe he is new or maybe it was an off day. We booked last second so we were glad they had availability. Was it worth the price to get picked up at our lodging and not be on a bus yes but the customer service has room for improvement.
