Upon arriving at the Chimborazo Reserve, home to the magnificent Chimborazo Volcano, the group will ascend to nearly 16,000 feet, marking the highest point of the journey, where breathtaking views await. This biking adventure will vary with the seasons, offering either sandy trails or snow-covered paths for an exciting experience.
Participants will ride along the Iceman Trails, featuring Blue and Black trails, named after local communities that harvest and transport ice from the volcano to sell in nearby markets using donkeys. As the group descends, they will learn about this unique cultural tradition while enjoying the thrilling ride.
Surrounded by the stunning vistas of the Central Andes and fertile volcanic farmland—responsible for producing about 40% of Ecuador’s vegetables—participants will navigate diverse terrains, including rocky sections and smooth single tracks, with incredible views of deep canyons and the volcanic landscape. Lunch will be enjoyed before returning to Quito.
