- Two Mausoleums of the Southern Han Dynasty - At 8:30 am, guests will be picked up from their centrally located hotel in Guangzhou and taken to the museum. The Southern Han Mausoleums Museum, which opened in 2019 in the southern part of Guangzhou, spans nearly 86,000 square meters. It showcases relics from the mausoleums of two kings from the Southern Han Dynasty (917-974 AD) and collections from the historical Guangzhou area. The museum features two main halls dedicated to the history of Guangzhou and the Southern Han Dynasty. Additionally, visitors will explore the site of the Kang Mausoleum, belonging to Liuyan (889-942 AD), the first king of the Southern Han. The mausoleum’s layout is well-preserved for excavation, and a large tablet discovered there confirms Liuyan as the tomb’s occupant.
- Nanhai God Temple - Located on the northern bank of the Pearl River, east of Guangzhou, the Nanhai God Temple was constructed approximately 1,400 years ago during the Sui Dynasty (594 AD). Historically, it served as a place for royals to offer sacrifices to the Sea God. Recently excavated near the temple are two ancient wharfs from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, which provide evidence of Guangzhou’s role in the maritime Silk Road.
-
Guangzhou Maritime Museum - The tour continues with a visit to the Guangzhou Maritime Museum, which resembles a massive ship in the Huangpu District of Guangzhou. The museum offers extensive exhibitions on the maritime history and culture of the Maritime Silk Road in Guangzhou.
Afterward, guests will be transported back to Guangzhou, concluding the day tour.
