Amazing walking tour: history and cuisine - I had an exceptional experience yesterday on the Culinary Backstreets walking tour. Eliza is super friendly and knowledgeable. We toured art galleries, churches and government buildings alternating with restaurants, coffeeshops and a fabulous chocolate shop. I learned so much about the region all the while enjoying food (including some fruits/seeds I'd never eaten before, amazing goat birria and the Guadalajara specialty torta ahogada). I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Eliza's passion for the region shines through, thank you for the wonderful experience.

If you have to pick one tour...this is it! - We had such a fabulous time with Eliza on the Backstreet Culinary Tour of Guadalajara on 2/20/26. Eliza exudes love and energy for this city, its history, food, traditions, art, current events, neighborhoods, etc. She was a wealth of information on all of these subjects as she guided us down beautiful streets, through churches and museums into some uniquely special places to sit, relax and enjoy their culinary offerings. The pace of the tour was entirely up to us and Eliza was very gracious and helpful throughout (lost phone, knee issue, etc) . Not only was Eliza an exemplary tour guide, she has now become a good friend! Gracias for todos, Eliza! Note: Eliza's husband is an accomplished artist/muralist that is worth checking out too if you have time!

Don’t miss this tour!! - This was an amazing way to learn about the city! We started with an introduction to the history of Guadalajara with visuals! Then our walking exploration began. We walked, talked, tasted and truly explored the city. I would say this is a must! What better way to learn about a culture than through its food. Highly recommend!

An Authentic Taste of Guadalajara - The Culinary Backstreets food tour with Erika was a highlight of my time in Guadalajara. The food was excellent, but what set the experience apart was the insight into local culture, history, and traditions. Erika was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about both the city and its cuisine. I especially loved visiting the small, family-run eateries with multiple generations involved in the business. They made the experience feel authentic and deeply rooted in the community. This was my second tour with Culinary Backstreets, and it certainly won’t be my last. I recommend their tours to anyone who wants to understand a place through its food.
