Volcan De Acatenango Y Volcan De Pacaya - The hike takes adventurers through four distinct ecosystems, each with its own charm. Initially, hikers traverse lush agricultural fields where farmers cultivate crops like corn and snow peas. Next, they enter a tropical cloud forest, rich with diverse plant and animal life, offering shade and comfort during the steep climb. Upon leaving the cloud forest, a high-alpine forest awaits, providing breathtaking views of six volcanoes and a perfect spot for a trail lunch. The journey continues to a wind-swept volcanic landscape where the camp is set up at 12,300 ft / 3,750 m. Here, participants enjoy dinner, coffee, and tea around the campfire, with stunning views of Antigua Valley and Volcan Fuego, creating an unforgettable experience of witnessing volcanic eruptions and stargazing.

Summiting Acatenango

Acatenango Volcano - After a hearty early morning breakfast, hikers set off on a 1-hour climb to the summit of Acatenango. Although the ascent is steep, the awe-inspiring views of Volcan Fuego, the Antigua Valley, and the Guatemalan highlands extending to Mexico make it truly rewarding. At the summit, guests are treated to a full 360-degree panoramic view.

After spending about an hour at the peak (weather and timing permitting), the group begins the three-hour descent back down the volcano, reaching La Soledad and awaiting transportation by midday. Typically, groups return to Antigua by early afternoon (~1:00 pm), leaving ample time to enjoy a celebratory beer, cappuccino, or a well-earned siesta. Congratulations on conquering the volcano!
