A Warm Welcome to St. Lucia
As soon as we stepped off the plane at Hewanorra International Airport, the warm Caribbean breeze greeted us, and so did our friendly taxi driver. Holding a sign with our name, he welcomed us with a big smile and a cheerful “Welcome to St. Lucia!” It was the perfect start to our family adventure.
The kids were thrilled to see their names on the sign, and it made them feel like little VIPs. Our driver was not only professional but also incredibly warm and engaging. He quickly loaded our luggage into the taxi, and we were off to Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort.
Scenic Journey to Sugar Beach
The drive from the airport to the resort was nothing short of spectacular. Our driver, a local with a wealth of knowledge, pointed out various landmarks and shared fascinating stories about the island’s history and culture. The kids were captivated by the tales of pirates and hidden treasures, while my husband and I enjoyed the stunning views of the lush green mountains and sparkling blue sea.
We even made a quick stop at a local fruit stand, where the kids got to try fresh coconut water for the first time. It was a delightful experience that added a touch of local flavor to our journey. The comfortable taxi ride allowed us to relax and soak in the beauty of St. Lucia without any stress.
Departure with a Smile
All too soon, it was time to leave the paradise that is Sugar Beach. Our driver arrived promptly at the agreed meeting point, and once again, he greeted us with a warm smile. He efficiently loaded our luggage into the taxi, and we began our journey back to the airport.
