Perfect tour of Genada island - This Half Day Grenada Sunshine Highlights tour with guide Dexter was comprehensive, educational and fun!
We were picked up at the Camper Nicholson marina on time. Over the next 4 and 1/2 hours we visited Conrad Falls, many villages, Etang Lake Reserve, and the Diamond Chocolate factory including interaction with locals showing historical techniques. We stopped throughout the tour multiple times during which Dexter taught us in depth about the abundant fruits, spices, trees and plants history, uses and importance to the Grenadine culture of foods and medicinal uses. He went above and beyond to weave history with current information. Dexter represented Grenada extremely well.
We highly recommend using him.

Great fun day out and really worth it. - Excellent experience. The driver was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. We only had 6 people on the bus which was a bonus. We saw the main sights as expected but the driver also tailored our trip to include ad-hoc stop offs by the side of the road to experience the plants and herbs directly. The trip lasted nearly 5.5 hours - longer than expected - but not because of the crowds but simply because he took time to make sure we had a great experience. It’s difficult to know which tour operator to use but we’re really glad we chose this one.

Beautiful Island, Great Guide, Worth Every Minute - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Dexter was an amazing, kind, and informative tour guide who went above and beyond with extra stops. The half-day tour felt like a full day and was very affordable. The island is beautiful we even saw monkeys! It was so interesting learning about the nutmeg and chocolate process there was so much I didn’t know and I loved it. Bring cash for tips and gift shops, and note there’s no service at the waterfall. Highly recommend Dexter!

Informative tour from Peter - Arrived on time for our pickup, returned us to our hotel about 5 1/2 hours later. Peter was very informative, telling us a lot about the history and economics and people of Grenada. Concord Falls was pretty, but I wouldn’t bother swimming there. Nutmeg museum and Chocolate factory were really cool - I never knew so much about how you get from tree to final product. Lots of scenery and chances to take pictures.

Good Tour of Grenada - After arriving outside the cruise ship terminal we were asked to wait 10 minutes for the driver. The tour begins with a drive through the rainforest where you will hear about the history, economy, and local customs. At the first stop, Grand Etang Lake, we were given time to browse the shops and information centre before moving on to the lake. The rainforest was too muddy to explore but after tipping one of the locals we got to interact with the Mona Monkey.
On the scenic drive through the rainforest our guide, Dexter, explained the history of wars and slavery and the effects of the climate on the vegetation. He stopped to pick leaves from various plants for us to smell, including nutmeg. At the next stop, Jouvaye Chocolate, Dexter thoroughly explained the process of how cacao is picked, dried, and processed using various machinery into pure chocolate. At the end we got to sample 5 different types of chocolate.
Down the road was a quick stop at Grenada Nutmeg Museum. One of the locals showcased the products she had for sale but there was no explanation of how the nutmeg is processed. After a southernly drive down the west coast we arrived at the last scheduled stop, Concord Falls. Here there are locals who cliff jump into the water and will aggressively demand a tip at the exit but you do not have to comply. Once back at the top of the Falls in the gift shop (best prices for souvenirs), Dexter gave us some crackers with local jam to sample as well as two shots of strong rum with nutmeg sprinkled on top.
We continued back to St George’s where our tour was supposed to finish but I wanted to visit Fort Frederick for views of St George, which Dexter kindly agreed to. This was a very informative tour with many stops and our guide Dexter was happy to share his knowledge with us, especially if you show an interest.
