Goreme Open-Air Museum - Goreme Open Air Museum
Begin at the Goreme Open Air Museum, a remarkable collection of monasteries, churches, and chapels dating back to the Middle Ages. This site was a significant Christian center of learning.
Fairy Chimneys - Next, explore the Monks Valley, renowned for its three-headed fairy chimneys. This area is also known as Pasabag, or “Pasha’s Vineyard,” for its stunning earth pillars located within a vineyard.
Devrent Valley - Also referred to as Imaginary Valley or Pink Valley, this area lacks cave churches like other Cappadocia valleys. What makes it famous is the lunar landscape! Devrent Valley conceals many unique rock formations. The small fairy chimneys in the valley create a lunar landscape, or moonscape, with their unusual appearance. The valley features many animal-shaped rocks.
Ortahisar - Discover caves and tall rocks here. It is an ancient Cappadocia town renowned for its castle, the largest fairy chimney in the region, with rock warehouses carved into the valley slopes, also known as the citrus warehouse of Southern Anatolia. The current settlement dates back to the early 11th century. During the period when migrations from Central Asia began, Hibe Dede and his 8 brothers, who came from Khorasan, built 9 separate houses around Nevşehir Ortahisar Castle. These nine families founded and settled in the present Ortahisar town.
Pigeon Valley - Capture the most beautiful photos of your life here. Güvercinlik Valley, stretching from Uçhisar to Göreme and covering an area of 4 kilometers, is named after the pigeon nests carved into the rocks. The locals fed these pigeons until the 9th century and used their fertilizers in the vineyards and their eggs in the plaster of frescos. To see both the pigeon nests and the unique flora offered by nature, make sure to walk this valley. There is also a waterfall cascading from a height of 15 meters in the valley.
Uchisar - This is a must-visit destination with its stone houses in the valleys and streets rich in history, known for Uçhisar Castle. The visual and historical richness offered by Uçhisar has increased the town’s touristic value, making it a hub for luxury boutique hotels.
