Great tour! - My favorite thing about our trip to London was the immersive music history experience. When I went there in 1987, I skipped all the traditional sites in favor of legendary spots for fans of The Who and The Jam: 90 Wardour Street (Legendsry Marquee Club), Twickenham for Pete Townshend’s house and the Lonsdale store on Carnaby or Oxford Street (can’t remember).
This time, I reached out to a friend of a friend who conducts punk rock tours of SoHo and Camden for a private booking tailored to our tastes: Lots of Clash/Jam/Who/Kinks/Mod for me. Lots of Bowie/Rolling Stones/Hendrix/Beatles for my friends. We ended up with an incredible and detailed look at dozens and dozens of historic sites. Highly recommended!
Huge thanks to Aidan McManus for the exceptional tour.
Great find for anyone who loves music!

Brilliant tour, highly recommended - The Original SoHo Punk Tour...We highly recommend you book this tour if you're into the Punk music scene of London in the 70s and music in general. Aidan knows his stuff and delivered it in a highly knowledgeable way, speaking very clearly....and was very funny too, "Songs about Hobbits" will remain with us for a long time!

Soho Punk Tour..2025.. - Great little tour if you not only like the Sex Pistols & punk but the history of music in London thru the 60's 70's & early 80's.
Aidan is a proper Londoner from that time & tells it as it was living in that era.
Really clear & enjoyable character with a good sense of humour.
100% recommend...

From a heavy rock/metal fan's point of view, it's worth going on the punk rock tour. It's brilliant. - As an old school heavy rock/metal fan, it made perfect sense to understand the history of the punk rock scene and how both genres came together.
It's worth pointing out that the punk scene in England is more than just the Sex Pistols, there were other groups making waves in that scene during the 60s, 70s and the early to mid 80s.
Sadly I didn't get the tour guides name. (I think it was Aidan) But he was brilliant and very funny. But for someone who actually lived and breathed the punk scene, he really knew his stuff. There were some elements of the heavy rock/metal scene which also appeared in this tour and I know from my knowledge of that scene that he was absolutely right on all counts. It may surprise some of you but the heavy rock/metal scene and the punk scene do connect now and again.
The tour lasted over two and a half hours and during that time you will learn a lot about that scene. Contrary to popular belief, punk fans didn't have mohicans and the crowd size who consisted of four people including myself, were shown photos on a tablet which does prove this, during the 70s during a punk rock concert.
Don't let the Admission fee put you off from going on this tour, because you will visit areas of SOHO London which helped not only to create the rock/metal scene, but also the punk rock scene as well.
Even if your not into either scene, it's still a great tour to go on to as you will see venues where these punk rock concerts were held and also where the musicians hung out afterwards. So give it a try.

Cool Punk Tour in Soho - I had a wonderful time on this tour going through the local history of punk rock/Sex Pistols in Soho with our guide who was a great chat about all things music and had lots of cool stories about Malcolm McLaren and Johnny Rotten that I had never heard before plus photos and recommended readings for those who are interested in learning more about the almost forgotten history of punk in the UK.

Great Punk History Tour - Aidan’s punk tour was fantastic-insightful, engaging, and rooted in his own experience of the era. It was a great way to get to know the area, and I especially appreciated the book recommendations he shared along the way.

Great tour and lots of music history - We met on a cold, damp day. But the tour took us on a journey through punk and much more, as we were taken through the old haunts of Soho. Our guide was a font of knowledge and brought it all to life. A great experience!

Well worth the time and money!! - Aidan was a great source of information. If you’re a music fan this is a must do tour. Well worth the money and a great way to spend an afternoon walking around Soho. Aidan brings his iPad full of pictures of what Soho looked like back in the 70s as he shows you the venue as it looks today.
