Fun and fascinating walk - Ben our Tour Guide was superb. Dressed the part and was very knowledgeable about the subject matter and the general history of the area where it all took place. All retold passionately and with enthusiasm. He expertly and safely guided us around the area and after the tour was finished he was gracious with his time to answer our questions. Higher recommended tour and guide.

The fascinating history of the Whitechapel murders in Victorian London. - A truly enlightening experience. Despite knowing much about the Whitechapel murders, out tour guide also gave us some insights into other murders that happened and how potentially they could be linked to the Ripper. The tour guide, Michael, provided some very indepth information and details about the murders, he was also quite willing to give his opinion on some theories about the identity of the murderer which could dispel the myth of who the killer was! Also, the history of how the police operated at that time as compared to now was interesting to say the least...more of them on the beat than now!!!
The tour took us to places that I have not been to despite many visits to the capital...all very interesting and worthwhile despite the very cold weather!
We were part of a small group of 5 which made it much more intimate. possibly better for the guide too! The cost of this tour was reasonable, best to spend the majority of the day in London to really make it cost effective though.
I can highly recommend this tour if any one is fascinated by this historical event.

Legend of person and legend of tour! - Jed was outstanding! A true gentleman and a huge wealth of knowledge. Jed made the tour super engaging, fun and had us all transported back to 1888 in East London.

Great tour - It was very cool tour. We went in the evening on Saturday, so the atmosphere was perfect, with a bit of fog and after dark. It added to the immersive experience, on top of a great guide who was very knowledgeable about the topic and the local area in general. We were excited and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in getting to know London in a slightly different way.

Predatory Currency Conversion - Excellent hotel; newly renovated; air conditioned; small comprehensive kitchenette; excellent and helpful staff; central location near Victoria station. BUT: they charged me $550 Can extra over the daily exchange rate to convert the final GBP billing to $Can and only refunded $Can 183 when I complained to their head office. We had stayed with this hotel (in Kensington) before and had not encountered this predatory behavior before. The initial down payment was charged at an appropriate conversion rate.

Guide matters on this one - This tour had glowing reviews from friends, but I'm afraid they must have had a different guide. We had one named Chris that seemed to kind of miss the point of it all - the narrative, the lore, the cultural/historical context. I walked in knowing nothing, but he just jumped right to the murders with dates and names - very detailed without much story. I've been on many tours and guides usually have a rhythm, keep time, engage with the group (or at least ask where everyone is from), and have jokes that are tried/true and land every time. This just wasn't the case - it went overtime (checked his watch once in 2.5 hours), he seemed peeved by questions, and one friend of my ducked out early. We ended up learning more about the history of it all by Googling at the pub later that evening.
