An excellent way to spend a couple of rainy hours in London! - I had a few hours to spend in London and booked this tour on a whim. It was well worth the money, and such an interesting experience! Tom is hugely knowledgeable and we learned some fascinating tales about the history of the area - and the stories held beneath the very ground we were walking on. We were even lucky to stumble across a concert pianist practising in the church, which really created a very impressive ambience / backdrop to the tales. The only thing I'd say - and this is absolutely my own fault - is that the tour lasts 2 hours and there's a lot of standing around / walking quite slow. I foolishly hadn't put enough layers on and was freezing by the end of it which affected my enjoyment a little. So if you feel the cold like me, wrap up warm!!

London historical tour - We highly recommend booking the Burnings, Butchery & Black Death: A Walking Tour of London's Bloody Past. This is our second tour with Tom and we loved it as much as the first time. Farringdon is a fascinating area of London, sometimes forgotten and Tom brings it back to life for two hours. Enjoy ! :)

Amazing knowledge and wonderful storytelling. - A huge thank you to Tom who battled the freezing weather to guide us around an area that we are familiar with. He unpeeled the layers of history and took us back to the plague pits, the fun and frivolity of St Bart's, and brought alive the images of drovers leading their cattle through the streets of London. We were captivated from start to finish. After the tour I read 'The Square of Sevens', a fictional book which had parts based in Smithfields and St Bart's fair. It was so interesting to have visualised those times, in the streets and the churches as I read the book. We highly recommend Tom and will certainly return! Thank you!

An excellent guided tour online - Tom's online guided tour was excellent. It's especially good for those of us who, like me, no longer have full mobility. I could not have done this tour by walking in the streets so it was a great pleasure to be able to do it online via Zoom.

Fascinating and informative virtual tour of area around old smithfield market - Really informative. Didn't talk down to the audience. Helpful using laser pointer. Liked including when used on tv and film productions. Also liked quotes from contemporary writers' description of location. Using the map at start and finish appreciated. Good length. Value for money.
