This week offers a special series of tours to celebrate what would have been Freddie Mercury’s 80th birthday. Participants will explore numerous locations linked to Freddie, from his family home in Feltham to Garden Lodge, where he lived and sadly passed away in 1991. The tour guide will share many stories about Queen, one of the world’s most legendary rock bands. The tour includes visits to several iconic sites where the band lived, socialized, recorded, and performed. The guide has been a Queen fan for over 50 years and feels fortunate to have seen them in concert in 1986. This is a full-day tour covering a range of Freddie and Queen-related locations.
Lunch is planned at the Champion Pub, where it is rumored Freddie wrote ‘We Are the Champions’ (though the guide is skeptical about this). Throughout the tour, as Freddie’s life is commemorated, participants will view several clips of Freddie and the band performing. Public transport will be used, and a good level of fitness along with walking shoes is recommended for this epic Queen journey.
